Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey we have about 3 months of good weather here! Between traverse city and Gaylord

Although you wouldn't know it right now. The water hose was frozen this morning and I was running late for work. Thank goodness the hubby put all of my 'stuff' in the truck. We're sharing a vehicle for now. Hit a deer last Thursday

(I don't believe in killing something I'm not going to eat) and messed my poor truck up. Now I'm waiting on insurance co to confirm their going to total it.
We're thinking about moving too Raz but if we do we're heading south and as far away from family as possible. So sick of drama and bs. Can't choose our family but we can deff move away from them lol

I hope you all are signing up for Chickenstock!! It's a fun time to be had. Good food and you meet other crazy chicken people.

We moved closer to family. Want to see my grand kids and be a part of their lives. Want to be able to help out when needed. Youngest son is single father of 4 girls, so at times he needs help, but not often. Two grand kids are in gymnastics and cheer. Daughter needed help in getting them to practice. Love seeing them and going to their meets. Love going camping with the kids and grand kids. Making a lot of special memories! I know some families thrive on drama. My daughter's in laws are horrible. They have removed themselves from them and are so much happier. lol

Yo!
Got new chicks! Hatched some Marans and my OE crosses.
Then today bought a couple SLW chicks.....total impulse buy.
Tomorrow should be getting a couple CCL pullet chicks..another impulse buy.
All local, was hard to resist.

Okay I should have paid closer attention to all the directions for the new site. I've been going through BYC withdrawals.
One of my broodies hatched 3 out of 4 eggs last Thursday and Friday.

It looks like we are back in operation.

It's been a busy week or so. Dealing with Mom's estate is proving to be far more complicated than it should be.
Have the garden just about ready for planting. Still be the netting to keep the chooks out.
New storage garage has been erected. A nice little 10x17 tent type.
Lots of new plants ready to go in the ground. Just run out of gas too quickly.

Still looking for a new place to call home. I hear Webberville and area is chicken friendly. Open to all options.

Milford Township is a nice place. Don't live in the village if you want chickens... Nice town though.
