Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It just does not seem possible, from your description of the setup and scene. A mink might make more sense as they are small, powerful and will kill without limits. They administer a single bite to the nape of the neck, often with little to no blood. They can fit through very small openings as well. But the birds would still have raised a commotion.

Right.
The 30 minute time frame in middle of day with no commotion or blood is mind boggling.

There could have been a commotion and I didn't hear it. The coop is set back in the woods. I was probably running a machine or tool at the time. Anyway, I'm starting from scratch. I have a PTO post hole digger to set fence posts.

My big tom went walk-about the other day. The lady down the road called yesterday. She was feeding him. So I went and fetched him home. I think he is lonely. He has been following the wild turkey that come onto the property. I feel bad for him.

Hey guys... Hope everyone is doing well.

I busted my hump in Vegas, 11-12 hr days. It was pretty hot n dry. We did get to go out to the strip on the last evening for some fun. Came back this week to rest up and then on to a real vacation next week!!

I offer to help my neighbors, but some time I just help anyway. The one closest to me I can trust enough to feed the dogs and livestock for me. And in turn, if I know they are gone for a weekend, or on vacation, I'll mow part of their yard for them when I mow mine.

The other neighbor, we just leave alone. He's a strange one. Says he's lived 7 different lives and was Native American in some of those lives (he's German/Austrian). Claims to know what every plant and stone is good for healing wise. I think he's full of S. He likes to burn everything lol! Unfortunately, that meant one of my 25' pine trees too. We've had to get on him a few times about the excessive burning, cause there were some days when I couldn't go outside to do chores or have our windows open, this can't be good for my animals either. He doesn't work, so he has plenty of time to burn during the day or when the weather is more conducive to burning.

My other land owner neighbor and I have become better acquainted, I am leasing the 20 acres from him for hunting this year. Just yesterday, we talked about this property and that we would be told first before it were to go on the market. That really puts me in a conundrum.. I would love to get my hands on it. But, we want to get out of our mortgage to move South. We will just wait and see.

My moms new condo was started, foundation was poured and the windows were all wrong. They were supposed to be picture windows, and they were tiny basement windows with a side egress and a deep window well, she would never be able to get out of. So she has refused the condo and is selecting another lot. I told her to make sure she signs off on the prints before they start the work next time. But what do I know. She's only listening to my sister and her husband and my brother and I are just here to clean up the mess... rather, I am, cause my brother has been busy haying. I am glad this has happened as it will give us time now to clean stuff out before she moves.

I canceled my apt to take my birds to freezer camp.... I'm going to keep them on a bit longer.

Welcome back Silly.

I sure do understand "busy". That's been my life lately.
The crane guy just cancelled the lift, so the work crew also cancelled. All of the Sky-Lifts and Extend-a-boom machines are rented out. :he

Talked to a crew working on a neighbor's house. The owner will be here in the morning to quote the job. Maybe I'll get this garage built before I die. :fl

Picked up 20 chicks at TSC today. I hope I can secure the coop much better than what is is now. They are in the water trough brooder right now and secure. I think the living room is predator-proof. :idunno

Got a few pictures of the driveway I graded. I'll post later. Got to get stuff taped before the rain hits.

We're back from our Halloween camping trip. We had a blast decorating the site. And... we won first place!! The grandkids had a blast with all the activities. Sorry the season is changing and no more camping.
RaZ, hope the hand is better by now.
Looked out the window and saw a hawk sitting on the cat's cage, with a bunch of chickens in the other cage (door open) "hiding". Taped on the window to scare the hawk away and put the chickens in the run. Close call!
