Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Going to be looking for chicks soon here I think. Just gotta finish getting the brooder ready and then going to track down who has Lavender Opps pullets available. If anybody else see some, let me know. Ideally picking them up Sunday would work best for me and the wife.
FFH in Bad Axe has them. They say that they will have them every week of chick days. Not sure where they get them from.

Tempting, but that's a 3 hour drive for me. Might be able to pull it off, but I might look around yet and see if anywhere else closer has them. Do have the brooder ready to go, other than I probably should go and double check my heat lap.

I am in Villa Serrano, Bolivia right now and will be for the next 3 weeks. Temperatures are in the upper 70s to mid 80s, which is fine for me. They are having summer here and the sun is quite harsh. Right now is supposed to be rainy season, but it's very nice right now.

So I played with The map... How close are ya to "The letters"? It looks like a relaxing foothills kinda location. And I'm very curious what Northern Hemisphere locations you could compare geography with it?

For y'all who don't want to play with the map.... Here's a couple pics.... Reason I ask is I saw this odd shape near what looked like a house on a hill. Turns out someone cut the name of their town into the hill. I have cropped my screenshots down in hope that it reduces bandwidth for my fellow DSL and slower connected folks. (We are fluctuating in the 1.3-3.2MB/s rates over the last 2 weeks)... Anywho. Here's the sat view fun. PSX_20200307_173749.jpg
This is when I noticed the odd shape near center. So I zoomed in and...

Then I zoomed out.... Beautiful topography!

Enjoy your trip, enjoy the cultural experience. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the differences. Enjoy life.

Yeah, I don't think he's up in the high country there. There's some stretches of the Andies where a lot of things don't like to work because the air is so thin up there. Probably a little thin to a Michigan Lowlander, but shouldn't be that bad as long as you're not overdoing it.

During September 2019, Villa Serrano started to be consumed into burn. People asked for help to the Bolivian government but it was not attended.
Something that I saw from the Wikipedia article about the town. Think somehow Google butchered the translation from Spanish, German, or the local language of Quechua. But from the sounds of it they had some sort of a fire there?

Raz - congrats on the new job. Store defective person? Right up your alley!!

I'm still looking, but have to admit I have enjoyed having some time off. I was traveling so much that I had a ton of things to get caught up on. I am looking for something with less travel for now. Even considering looking for something different, just don't know what or where. We are ok for now, but I hope to have a job in the next month or two. I really would love to take the summer off, but I think that would look bad being off work that long. It sure would be nice to have a veggie garden again.

Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather... was almost 60 deg today!
I want to let my hens out but worried the fox will be back.

FFH opened a store close to me, but I'll still go to the regular feed mill as much as I can. I rather support the local business. FFH advertised a couple breeds I wanted, but when I got to the store they didn't have any. My hens are not producing much some are 3 and 4 yrs and not producing much. I am not the type to keep all the birds around, if they don't produce then they need to provide. I had thought now that things have changed, I would get some new stock and thin out the older hens.
