You might have to put her in a time out when you let the chicks out.
Yeah, I'm thinking I will have to. I have the extra large dog crate that is my brooder. My plan was to put her in that, in the run. I will have to take her off the roost in the middle of the night, because otherwise, I'd have to nab her with a fishing net, and that is too traumatic.

How many days and nights would she need, do you think?

Well, seems like my days are never over these days. I did took a nap around 230pm and woke up at 6pm. That ws not a nap but the day was aweful. Began working on the front yard cutting the butts of the trees that hun had cut and still there. It was not easy but I managed to cut 2 of them. Still have 3 to go. On the other side, I completed planting the mint all over and watered them. They are getting more water now as we speak because it is raining and it should rain most of the night and morning until 1130am. The girls will need to stay in. Hub volunteer to work so I was upby 3am and he left at 331. Odd because it is only 35 min to work and he goes in at 5am but not my monkey to worry about. He got home at 1130am and saw me cutting in front of the house and he told me the same thing you guys told me. Nothing. He later came out and asked me for a cement spatula and I told him where it was. Later I went in, shower, ate and asked him if he wanted me to do some for him and he said no. I did not noticed until past 6pm that he had use the sand from the kiddie pool that was mixed with wood ashes and DE. That got me so mad that I just put the girls in by 7pm and took off.

Went to Ludington. It was nice. They had a play in a park and I just walked around and watched some. Then came home. Just barely walked in. I am so tired. But nice to see that Riss had her grad. Spoke to my baby son and he had gone to the prom the night before. Anyways, got 4 eggs today but Phoebe, white egg layer, nothing. She did nothing for me today. I gave them a very good breakfast too. 3 scrambled eggs, one apple and one mango. They love mango, lol Than later on I gave them a few blueberries and half of a caribbean pumpkin. They even had the seeds, lol
It is tundering outside. I will just do a bit of crochet and get in bed. Have to get up not so early because I am not letting the girls out and had already put some water and some food for that same reason. I love ya all!

Poison hemlock; we have at lest 200' x 3' along the road on our side!!! Way too much for us to deal with, plan to call the DNR, at least, for help. OMG!!!
It's on the right of way, so maybe the road commission? Somebody? It can't be burned either, just like poison ivy (and we have lots of that too).
Tonight I made peach-blueberry jam, our favorite. It's from Hillbilly Hen, delicious! Here I use the low sugar SureJel, and make the jam with her spice blend.
One hen missing tonight when the birds were locked in, not good.

There's no specific age to integrate, much depends on the process you have followed for introduction(see not touch, etc).
Eventually you have to bite the bullet and take the barriers.
Thanks! They are all hanging out together in the coop and with exception of the one day that all H#%^ broke loose, they mingle all day and sleep on the opposite roost at night.

I think I will still have a separate feed and water station for them and have an area where they can get away for cover if need be. Otherwise…consider the bullet bit:)

So it is becoming harvest season!!! How is everyone’s garden coming along. I do not have a garden perse but several tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers in pots. I read that I can do a late planting of peas and beans that I might get in on. Anyone planting fall crops?

I frequent a local farm market and asked what they did with their cast offs and veges that they cant sell if I could bring a couple of bins to get some vege scraps for the girls. I simply dont eat enough veg to have scraps for everyone.

They told me they throw what they dont sell onto the compost pile and I am welcome to come as I please to take what I would like. Their produce is wonderful and I figured, why not…

That leads to my question…It is becoming sweet corn season and I have been participating A LOT!! I have a bunch of husks that I cut up to throw in my pile out back. Is that something that can be tossed in the coop for the girls? I am picky about their scraps but thought even if they dont eat the cut up sections, it is good stuff for them to rummage through. Thoughts?

Heading downstairs to get on the bike now. I am trying to get back to training again. Covid threw me for a loop and with no races last year and coming off of a shoulder injury in 2019, I am way out of shape and trying to get back at it.

I attempted Pilates with a friend and the instructor turned out to be a creeper and followed me home to see where I live. Let’s just say, had he driven up the hill, he would have been escorted down w a vehicle that had lights and a siren….not cool.

Okay…off I go. Cheers and hope everyone is staying cool.

I hope you warned your friend. That is just... creepy. And scary.
