Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No me. Unless you near Lansing and want to join us! Dream, any where you want to stop? Cracker Barrel? Lunch? Snack? Or just coffee? Thought CB would be easy for you to find and off highway.
I am north of Lansing and Rose is one of my nicknames which is why I was confused!

I will not be interrupting any lunches today, had to get my vaccines yesterday and I am a bit under the weather!

I really do appreciate the concern that ya'll show for me. I value the friendship of each and every one of you guys.
I really have slowed down a lot recently. You might not think so but compared to what I used to do, I have slowed tremendously. I feel like I'm not getting anything done.

The AB that I was taking through the IV was also treating the infection. That was a lucky break. I finished the AB a couple of days ago. I have another 5 days of the Heparin IV. The PICC will stay in place until I get the TEE. Not sure when that may be.

Two different people tried to teach me how to crochet but I could never get the tension right. My chain stitch gets way too tight. Now with the arthritis and Reynauld syndrome I can't even hold the crochet hook. I put up the brick moulding trim on the reset front door and could hardly hold the trim nails and hammer. Getting old ain't for the weak. :old

Beautiful sun shiny day here but darn cold. Going to try a few outdoor chores after I get back from a food run. Cupboards are getting bare. At least I'm maintaining the weight losss. I lost about 15 pounds while I was in the hospital. You can actually see my ribs. :D

Put the snow blower on the tractor and got that all greased up last weekend. I think I have my final sort of old and new birds, all I have left to do is do in the ones that are not staying, not a happy job.
Woke up this morning and there were snowflakes coming down, no accumulation but definitely a warning. They got two inches up in the Soo last night.

Supposed to warm up a little next week, plan to wait and put the winter cover up then. chickens have all but stopped laying, one egg every couple days. That's life with a bunch of old hens :)
I hope that warm up holds true. It's pretty cold here. Day temperature is only 40 - 45 degrees. Tonight they are saying 27 - 32 with a 40% chance of snow or rain.
I already have a fire going and I need to bring in more firewood from outside.

I'm only getting 2 eggs a day. Most of my birds are going through a soft moult. My flock is around 2 - 3 years old so I'm not expecting much production during the cold months to come. I'll have to decide if I want to add chicks come spring. I need to consider my work load and my health condition. But I still want to get some peafowl though.

Randy, peafowl are a pain! Admire them from afar, don't add to your project load.
Mary
I know. A friend raised them for several years so I have a pretty good idea of the work load. The only probable way I would get them is if the price is low for the chicks. Generally speaking, they are too expensive for me. So not likely to actually getting them. But a boy can dream.
