Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I think this is the only reason that keeps me from getting a jeep. I just drive a good old falling apart chevy and does wonders, :lau
I love this Jeep. I bought it used with 200,000 miles on it. It now has almost 300,000 on the odometer. It saw a lot of heavy abuse towing and hauling when I moved from the city. The relatively minor repairs always seem to come at the worst time. Like this week.

Besides being raining most of the day, I am please because I was able to change the tarps all around the full run. We were not able to do the side of the roof that is missing because of working with electrical tools and rain is not the best idea. However, I kept praying until the Lord's girls were wrapped from the wind and it was amazing. As soon as I was able to get the tools and things out of getting wet, it just poured. So, I stayed inside the run and climbed in the coop through the cleaning door and cleaned inside and gave the girls some treats. Even had my boss mama sit and just chill on my lap without holding her. She was so soft! That is some real love right there!

Anyways, I love the clear plastic becasue light still comes in (or out as you can see from the coop light while I took pictures on tehoutside) and it is clear inside. There are 3 tarps on the top to cover where the roof needs to be finished and it hangs towards the back but it is not much and hopefully, the roof gets finish and they can be removed. I still have to put some hardware cloth under the roof in some areas but most of the rafter? are in. Those pieces of wood between the long pieces where the roof lays....yeah, those, lol

It always does Randy!

Tamales is meat filled "corn masa" or maize dough. We do not eat those. Well, many do but it is not a palate from Puerto Rcio. Pasteles is a pork, chicken or beef filled dough that is made from various root vegetables like casaba, green bananas (not the common at the stores which I learned those have been gassed so they ripe sooner), plantains , and my favorite, taro root.
For us empanadas are from Jamaica and it is the same but the meat is a bit more spicy. The shell can be different texture and it is not gluten free as for it is made of flour. (Sally)
However, (Sally) I can make potatoe fillings that are gluten free unless corn starch has any gluten. That I amnot sure atthis moment but can look it up. T\Yeap, I use corn starch which is gluten free, YEAH! I can also use boniato which is like sweet potatoe with corn meal (gluten free)

interesting almost looks like a squash cut in half and filled with meat :)

Yep me neither. I think the only place in a jeep that is even somewhat comfortable is the driver's seat, and that is only because they are fun to drive. Terrible for passengers.

You forgot about Pasties, Dreamz - baked Cornish meat pies that are famous in the Northern midwest states. Usually contain ground or chopped beef, with variable vegetables such as potatoes, carrots and onions; but most important is Rutabaga. There is always contention about whether Pasties are eaten with gravy or ketchup.

Hubby loves his Jeep. To me, it's not the most comfortable ride -- kind of dreading the trip out to Pittsburgh with it for that reason -- and it is loud. And a gas hog.

But when we have to get out of here in the winter, it's the only thing we have that can do it. High clearance, weight, power, and 4 wheel drive. If we can't get out with the Jeep, we shouldn't be out on the roads.

And it's pulled a lot of trailer loads of wood and other things. It has its place. I don't love it like DH does, but I sure can respect the work it can do.
