Yeah, I'm going to get the poop board scraped clean, and then put an extra thick layer of PDZ down.
Make sure when using feed bags to line poop boards to cut the bags don't pull the strip. I always pull the thread at the top to open, and cut bottom off, then cut up the side at seem of the bag. that way you should never have raveling that can cause problems. I have used feed bags to cover poop board for over 10 yrs and never had a problem. never have them ravel.Thanks for that tip - I am going to try that with my quail cages.
I got this set of cages off Craigslist for half the price of a new one, it's just missing a water trough, but I may change to a different type of water system anyway. Looking for one that won't freeze in winter. The Quail will be housed in a shed. Since I'm getting old, I split them into two 3 cage racks and added legs to raise them up to my height for easy access. I figured out what type of quail I'm going to order. Just need to wait for the hatching rails to come in so I can order the eggs.
I will probably have quail/eggs to bring to CS if anyone is interested. I'll bring some bunnies and chicks (sumatra and faverolle) if anyone is interested as well. I look forward to seeing everyone there!

So I finally had my run in with covid, DH brought it home while traveling for work. It is a bugger of a thing. It messes with every part in your head, ears, sinuses, killer headache, brain function - felt like I was in such a fog and unable to even think. The coughing blows, and I feel completely winded all the time.... ugh. Makes it hard to do chores in the 5* weather! Going on the 3rd week of it and my tests are negative at least now. I get better a tiny bit every day. We had two good friends that had it much worse than we did, one survived though barely, and is finally home, the other lost her battle.
