Our three December12th chicks are finally out at the coop. Finally. Their own section, heated waterer, and brooder plate. Poor little guys need to be out seeing the world, and other chickens!
Otherwise, water heater decided to behave badly last night, and is now working, so showers possible again, not cold ones. Fun!

Oh, Goodie...a couple inches of rain then 8+" of snow.

It is a CBD lotion and doesn't have any THC in it, smells faintly of lemongrass but otherwise I don't notice any odor at all

Dream, the balm I use smells so good. Made with shea butter, mango butter, coconut oil, cera alba, (?) and avocado oil. My son says he smells pot a little bit. But it has helped me so much! No THC
Not looking forward to the weather this week. Guess I shouldn't complain. We haven't had too much snow yet. Yesterday was a decent day. Sunny and no wind.

I'm not looking forward to later in the week, either, with the "rain changing to snow." But the thaw tomorrow has me hopeful.

I might have to do a road trip tomorrow. I won't know until later today; DH said if he can't do it, can I, and I agreed. So glad the crappy weather isn't until the end of the day.

The deer are browsing the low branches on our fir trees right down to sticks. And pawing up the ivy and myrtle. It'll be interesting to see what's left, come spring.

There is going to be a Lion in the Super Bowl!

Thanks for that tip - I am going to try that with my quail cages.

I got this set of cages off Craigslist for half the price of a new one, it's just missing a water trough, but I may change to a different type of water system anyway. Looking for one that won't freeze in winter. The Quail will be housed in a shed. Since I'm getting old, I split them into two 3 cage racks and added legs to raise them up to my height for easy access. I figured out what type of quail I'm going to order. Just need to wait for the hatching rails to come in so I can order the eggs.

I will probably have quail/eggs to bring to CS if anyone is interested. I'll bring some bunnies and chicks (sumatra and faverolle) if anyone is interested as well. I look forward to seeing everyone there!

So I finally had my run in with covid, DH brought it home while traveling for work. It is a bugger of a thing. It messes with every part in your head, ears, sinuses, killer headache, brain function - felt like I was in such a fog and unable to even think. The coughing blows, and I feel completely winded all the time.... ugh. Makes it hard to do chores in the 5* weather! Going on the 3rd week of it and my tests are negative at least now. I get better a tiny bit every day. We had two good friends that had it much worse than we did, one survived though barely, and is finally home, the other lost her battle.

Make sure when using feed bags to line poop boards to cut the bags don't pull the strip. I always pull the thread at the top to open, and cut bottom off, then cut up the side at seem of the bag. that way you should never have raveling that can cause problems. I have used feed bags to cover poop board for over 10 yrs and never had a problem. never have them ravel.

At least you guys can watch football. I cannot watch my futbol 9soccer) Canada 2 and US nothing. I would have love to see it live. GO CANADA! Sorry I think the USMNT team is so bad. Now when it comes to the USWNT, those are my other girls. Megan Rapinoe is a beast on the field and I love Alex Morgan and Lyndsey Horan. In order to see the games, I have to pay extra on a plus venue. So far Canada is at the top FIFA World Cup 2026. USMNT also lost to El Salvador, OMG! If it was vs Brazil or Argentina, maybe but come on, El Salvador?
