16 ounces of regular vodka
2 cups of elderberries, lightly packed into the cup.
We harvested them fresh from the bush this fall.
You can also purchase elderberry powder online. I suppose most of the nutrition type stores sell it as well. We have never had to buy the berries.
Another one we have is this:
Any size jar will work, this is the way we do it.
Take a quart jar and fill it with elderries, then take some honey and cover the berries with it. Let it sit and ferment for two-ish weeks. Strain and use. The honey goes through a change because of the fermentation process and ends up not being as sweet as honey usually tastes.
This method does not have alcohol in any measureable content even though it goes through a fermentation process.
