Even chicken criminals can be environmentally friendly.

Congrats!

I never have seen the attraction to cats. They aren't overly friendly. They're often aloof and arrogant. Dogs on the other hand are help mates. They are used for a wide variety of tasks from sheep and cattle herding, to leader dogs for the blind. Many breeds are used to pull sleds and carts. They guard our property, watch our children, aid law enforcement. The list goes on and on. You've never heard of a rescue cat, yet the headlines are filled with examples of canine heroism.

Since dogs are used for many types of work and by many different businesses, does anyone know what breed could be used by a porti-potty company?

LOL, couldn't agree more being a dog person myself.

but I have no idea the answer to you question........... other than maybe Scotty's potties? what did I win?

I have said it elsewhere...
BUT here is why I prefer the chickens to my cats and my dogs...

Just like my dogs, my chickens are always happy to see me. Some are more friendly than others, they get in the way, they let you know when sh!+ is about to hit the fan outside.

Like cats, they are soft to the touch and they will let you pet them when THEY feel like it and run like a crazy when they don't.

Like both cats and dogs, they do provide a form of stress release.

Unlike cats and dogs... They give you breakfast and some provide dinner.

Yes... I'd eat my cats and dogs if I were hungry enough and it was legal. Heck if I were starving I'd have no problem.. Might taste like chicken. Actually, my dad said it doesn't taste like chicken.

ANYWAY... SO, they are pets that entertain and feed you. HEY, it's a Movie and a dinner type of pet!

There is no argument about a dog’s usefulness. But the preference for dogs vs. cats as pets is entirely personal. It's no coincidence that dog lovers are typically extroverts while cat lovers are introverts. It's the nature of the beasts. An introvert commonly finds dogs overwhelmingly needy. Their energy wears them down emotionally. You walk up a drive and they bark at you. You walk in the house and they jump on you. You sit down and they’re on your lap or pawing at your knee for attention. You get up and they follow you. They want in, they want out, they want to play, etc. All of this is fine for an extrovert and satisfies their need for attention, for constant social contact. Extroverts love people, dogs love people. Cats, on the other hand, give an introvert more room, the precious space they require and can be sought out for attention when needed.

If anyone isn't familiar with how an introvert works, there's a good book out there called "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking". It's not uncommon for extroverts to have little to no empathy for introverts... hence why so many people think it's okay to let their dogs jump on others. Not okay. *pet peeve*

It's entirely personal.

((I also have to vote for chickens!!))

Question about the PVC trough feeder. I want to install it in my coop. How do you keep it from getting pooed in and perched on? Would it work well enough if I hung it against an inside wall at back level?
