Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

My brother and sister live in howell. Parents, bless their departed hearts, lived their also. Yes you are right! Today is the the start of winter solstice. Let there be light! :clap

Our Roost,
I looked up the bluelaced red Wyandotte, and wow, what a pretty bird! Do you have a breeding pair you are selling?

I agree they are pretty. I wish it wasn't winter or I would be considering road trip. We usually go camping up that way in the summer.

Happy Solstice Everyone!!

Haven't posted here for a long time...or maybe ever.

Just wondering of anyone near Paw Paw Michigan wants this 8 month old Dark Brahma mix rooster.
Not a great pic, 2 roos Sr. in front, Jr in back, they look like twins.
Pic was taken a months or so ago while Sr was molting, Jr's hackles and saddle are fully filled out like Sr's now.
He's a pretty mellow guy, just not enough room, or hens, for 2 boys.

I know it's long shot, but you never know.

He'll be stew if no one wants him.

Also looking or EE/Ameraucana and Marans hatching eggs for late January/Early February hatch.

Here is a site with a good bit of info on the solstice, http://earthsky.org/earth/everything-you-need-to-know-december-solstice#when

It looks like another day of 40 plus degrees. And more drizzling rain. My backyard looks like a muddy lake. If this stuff freezes a hockey game might break out. Heck, I turned the waterfall pump on for the pond. The wild birds drink water from the overflow pipe.
