Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have one of my easter eggers who will not lay in the nest boxes. I keep finding green eggs sitting in the coop. I think that little bugger has been laying out in the yard too.

Run is framed, mostly painted, and I've rigged in a door. Off to get welded wire to put around it and BAM, she's done ;)

im not sure what this is, but it looks kewl :

*EDIT: did some searching and this seems to be a common problem? I snipped off the dangly part, applied a compress of peroxide and put neosporin on it. Separating her from the flock for a couple days to a week, too. Does this sound about right?

Came home & found my girl's ear love hanging off. Took her inside and cleaned it, by the other chickens think it's a worm and won't leave it alone. Can I snip the skin off or what should I do? Never had a chicle injury before. She didn't wail too much when I cleaned it with q-tips.

Oh glad you figured it out......was it bad cutting it off?

I'd get her back into the flock as soon as possible, because of re-integration problems....now that the dangling earlobe is gone, maybe it'll be OK?

Any idea why she was attacked in the first place?

Been gone awhile. Sorry to hear about the numerous losses...so sorry for all of you who have had bad fortune with your birds, dogs, etc. they become part of the family...it's always hard.

I'm looking for a couple particular colors of specked chicken eggs....the light peach with dark brown speckles and the green speckled. I don't know what kind of hen laid these, although I was told the green egg is an Isbar.

If anyone has any like these can you PM me, please. Especially the peachy with brown speckles. Thanks. I'd like to purchase several dozen if I can.
