Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm still waiting for these 6 sapphire gems to start laying. Slackers are just enjoying the free room and board.

During the little free time that I have, I'm trying to re-do the run. Drilling fence post holes in the dense woods is made more difficult by the bowling ball size rocks. Stuck the auger in 3 of 5 holes drilled. Now it has a slight bend so the holes are now oval instead of round. I'm using those dimensional cuttings from the saw mill that I picked up last year. Lots of cross ties for support and several rolls of welded wire from the dump. So the expanded run is only costing time and labour, (as long as the auger holds out). I also scored 2 used dog kennel units for free so additional chain link will be used too.

Cut the hell out of the tip of my pointer finger making dinner last night.
Not good for slaughtering today.
Should probably wear a glove but hate to lose further dexterity.
Will be interesting.
Sure is quiet down in the coop this morning, cockerels are in garage where it's still dark and have only heard one crow from them.

Busy summer! Went camping over Labor Day in Holland. Now, leaving Thursday for our last camping trip to South Haven with a bunch of our grand girls for our Halloween bash. We get to decorate the camper and lot in all its spooky splendor! Last year we won 1st place and we upped the spooky this year.
And, on the 23rd, I'll finally get my knee repaired. Well, not repaired but replaced. Got to enjoy all the camping trips, maybe not it's fullest, but still enjoyed my summer. Will be happy to give up my brace and get on with getting well.
Have a good day, all.

Fall has arrived up here, temps have dropped into the upper 30's at night a few times. AFter the first cold snap the multitude of hummingbirds we had this summer completely disappeared. No frost yet, though.

Went to the Stalwart Fair over the weekend, horse pulls, speed and action, rabbit judging, and a big turkey dinner at the church - great fun.

I have the unenviable task of eliminating around 12 young roosters that no one seems to want, and that are eating me out of house and coop. First juvenile crow heard this am...

Hope the surgery goes well Rose!

Mostly good news here, wonderful! Rose, a new Knee will be a big improvement, and you'll be joining the ranks of the Bionic Women!
Forgot to mention those AMAZING MSU uniforms. What are they thinking???
Mary

Sure is quiet out there!
Because....
