OMG, you may have figured it out! I have been looking for a year now trying to figure out what she was mixed with. Are their feathers super silky soft??? My hen and both her babies are sooooo soft, even more than the other yearlings that i have. So i know that's genetics too, because they all eat the same thing. I don't suppose you mix the EE's and orloffs? Or would have orloffs for sale next year??? Not concerned with purity, i am mixing to make my own personal "breed/hybrid" of flock. Personality comes FIRST in my breeding, That adorably round shape with the funny wings come next, then color. I am breeding for lemon blue, or buff blue. Color is easier to work with down the line though, hardest thing for me has been finding the right personalities. It took me most of a year to find my lap hen! I had bought others, but other than her daughter they have fallen short of the amazing personality of her mom.
