um... it's warm out!


I got all bundled up expecting to freeze, and it's really quite pleasant out!

It's a pleasant 53 degrees up here too, if you don't mind the pouring rain. I haven't gone out to open up the pop door, I know they aren't going to go out in this. The dogs stayed out about 2 minutes, I think they just circled the house staying under the eaves until I let them in the other door.

That Tiger's game was brutal for sure! I fell asleep in the 10th, and found out that I missed more drama this morning. I was sorry to hear about Jeter since I think he's an amazing player (even if he does play for the yankees).

We're taking our plow truck out for my brother to tune-up for winter. I needs new plugs/wires and a few adjustments since it's running pretty rough right now. Of course, when we tried to take it out there YESTERDAY it wouldn't start and needs a new battery. We couldn't even jump-start it.

My new ducky girls are settling in nicely...I'm a tad bit bummed because I got a Rouen and Cayuga and the Cayuga is not "pure bred" for lack of another term if I'm using the incorrect one. She has a bit of white with some black speckles in it on one side of her head...I'm thinking she might be an Ancona cross...but she is beautiful at any rate. Going to go get some new ladies today, so that should be fun.

My trip to Potter Park was my first time seeing a Polish (I think...maybe he's a silkie? I don't know my breeds great yet) in person and one other type too (Cochin maybe? Feathered feet but wrong coloring for any of the Brahmas) and I fell in love with both of them. The Polish was a super handsome white Roo...I think I might want one someday when I used to be on the "silly ornamental chickens" fence...I thought they were cute but didn't see the point in owning them. lol.

Farmer, glad to see you here! and PTL for a job, and a job you enjoy at that...even if it means getting up at the butt crack of dawn! lol!

Shoot, if you were willing to make a drive, I have a rouen duck for sale and two cayuga ducks and one drake

. Would love to find them a new home before winter .

Lol! I have two Toulouse geese and they are TANKS! I absolutely love them they are really sweet

Darn! I wish I would have known! I am maxed out were I am right now I think, but if something changes I'll let you know. I just love the Cayuga's.

Me too at 2:30 in the morning! I went to let the dog out and when I open the door, I was hit by a warm breeze. Huh, don't need the jacket after all! But on the way to work I drove into a downpour, and had to turn on the windshield wipers on high.

Everyone here on the farm is doing fine. Chickens are being chickens free ranging. Nothing new with them. lol

I am still not able to get Bella (the cow) bred. But still getting lots of milk from her now, as I have been putting her calf in my chicken coop at night,. I get about a gallon of milk each morning. Raw milk is sooo good!

Oh! I think that the most coolest thing that has happened to me yet, is that one of the guy that works at the of of the farms that I now works, use to own Bella before he sold her to a guy, who then sold her to me! He stills have Bella's mother and knows when Bella was born! He wants to see how Bella looks now, and said that I can see Bella's mother too! Her name is Bonnie, a pure Guernsey. What a small world! And he also have a herd of Lowline Angus(he is selling most of them due to high hay prices) and a Lowline Bull had bred Bella last year, and that resulted Maybelle, so Maybelle is half Lowline, and 1/4 standard Angus and 1/4 Guernsey. That is an interesting mix. lol I would say that she looks more like her dad the lowline.

Oh shoot! Oh well. I love the Cayugas too. Only reason 'm getting rid of the ones I am is because I have 6 of em and I would like to reduce it to 3.
