Had the rain, thunder and lightening last night. Drove the one dog nuts, shaking and hiding under tables and desk. Looks like it will be cloudy here until later tonight when more rain is forecasted. I do love these milder temperatures though. Makes outside chores so much easier to do than the cold.
DH had an appt with the ortho surgeon yesterday. Everything seems to be healing as should be, meaning essentially the swelling is going down. Will have another follow up appt next Monday, then surgery on Tuesday to install plate(s) and screws in order to repair. DH asked what the standard/percentage of loss is with injuries like this after all healing was completed. Dr said 50-60% return to normal after a couple of years. This does not take into account my DH's osteoporosis or arthritis. I'm wondering if he will ever be able to ride his horses again, building our house has definitely been postponed and will take much longer to complete once started, and fishing in the icy river will probably never happen for him again.
It is amazing how one moment in time can effect your plans for life so much.
