Not sure if everyone has heard what Boyd and his family will be facing in the next couple of weeksbut here is what he posted on needing hugs and prays thread.

Ok, I finally am ready to write this all down

It is definitely Hodgkin's disease, with a huge tumor originating from her left lung, and according to ct scan the right as well. Yesterday we spent half the day there so they could do the bone marrow aspiration, and that concludes the testing. We now have a baseline to compare with once treatment starts.

The oncology nurse told us the normal protocol for this (and expects Ash to do as well) is to start chemo in a cycle

Week 1
day 1 12 hours intense chemo
day 2 3-4 hours chemo
day 3 3-4 hours chemo

Week two

Day 1 - 3-4 hours chemo
day 2 - 3-4 hours chemo
day 3 3-4 hours chemo

Week 3

Rest

Week 4 start all over again.........

So it looks like we'll be able to have her stay in school, and it would be pretty neat if we could schedule the chemo to begin on a sat-sun since she doesn't want to miss her nursing classes.

Beside our prayers I have posted the following on the thread and hope we can get some takers

Boyd and your family will be in our prayers too.

I also would like to offer any help you may need to get ready for the winter.
I talked with vicki2x2 and we could come for a day, as I'm sure there is plenty more Michigan people who could and would also to help you with anything you need done yet.
Maybe we just need to plan a chickenstock at your place in November.
What do you say!! Any takers

I can go for a day and help. I'll bring a friend of mine, my daughter and son in law too. Seems every person has a great tallet of their own. We all could help out a great deal Im sure.

Great idea Babette.

Thanks OD
We will have to wait to here from Boyd to see what day works best for him.

Yes we all have our own talents and can also help other do there talents.

I was wondering if we should see if anyone has thing to offer to help out with like
I have a 6ft roll of bubble wrap Plastic and some shingles if you need them Boyd.

I'll have some 2" x 4" x 5' high welded wire available after I'm done with my outside run and I have 2 bundles of shingles too and some wood also. And I get grain cheap. layer is $15 , grower for $18 a 100 pounds. Cracked corn is $8 So that in itself, might help big? I have a car hauler and a truck to haul what you need.

I appreciate the offer of help! I am not quite sure yet though if her immune system will be up to having folks around. My only other experience with cancer was with my youngest DS, and we even had to farm out all of our animals because he had to practically be bubble boy

With the more relaxed schedule we may be able to not worry too much, and the doc hasn't told us to remove our critters as of yet so we may be in good shape!!!

As far as help around the house, well unless you want my crazy teenagers to drive you batty....

Seriously though, if I do need help, I will definitely let ya'll know.

My door is always open though, and if her immune system is up for it, I'm sure she'd love a visit from friendly chicken people

Off to unload feed for the chickens. Making cinnamon rolls for breakfast (Kroger had them on sale)

We are doing a little school this morning, then going bowling. Great price too. $1 for shoes and $1 a game. From 10-2 at the Brighton Bowling alley. The others are much pricer!

Have a great day and talk to you all soon!

Morning everyone.
My prayers to Boyd and his family.

Had some fun with a possum last night. In the run in PJ's on and nothing but a flashlight and the cinder block next to on the ground. Possum 0 v.s. cinder block 1 their is not second half.

Good Afternoon!

The family went bowling this morning/early afternoon. Lots of fun. I haven't bowled in at least 6 years! I even beat my husband and he is on a bowling league!LOL!!!! He said that he wasn't talking to me the rest of the day. Oh well, too bad that isn't the same with the kids!HEHEHE

Off to get some work done. Emily's violin got cancelled again. Prayering for her teacher's grandchild. Something is wrong and the doctors are still trying to figure it all out.

The rain is here in Livingston County along with the colder temps!
