Hey, Oopsy... I just found a recipe for crockpot oatmeal. I've been making whole grain breads lately, using sprouted oat groats, wheat berries, and rye berries. I made my own wild yeast sourdough starters in both whole wheat and white. Since I've got all these whole grains on hand, I've been reading about what I can do with them. I found a recipe that has oat groats and apples in it. You just put it in the crockpot on low at night, and it's ready in the morning. I'm going to try it out tonight using oat groats and wheat berries. I've got a bunch of granny smiths and macintoshes on hand, as well as some local honey. Sounds great, but we'll see. I'll tell you tomorrow how it turned out.

WOW make sure you post how it is and the recipe please. I use my crock pot just about daily. I just put a pork tenderloin in with fresh whole mushrooms, onions and some mushroom gravy to then put over some egg noodles for supper tonight. I LOVE my crock pot. Between that, my elec fry pan. roaster and my broiler/oven in my microwave I never use my stove anymore at all. As my microwave oven makes the best biscuits and breads, way better than that expensive Maytag double oven stove. LOL funny how that works.

I need to get in a sour dough club here in Dryden again this year. Gosh did I eat some wonderful breads last year. Also put a few pounds on the ole hinney. LOL

I'm not sure if anyone has seen on the news yet about the young man who jumped off the Bluewater Bridge earlier today. This is a brother to a close friend of my husband. Also a family member to my in-laws. I'd like to ask for prayers for the family he left behind. All the details are not yet known, but I can tell you they've had a hard, hard year. They will need all the love, prayers and support possible to get through this tough time.

Hi everyone its been months since I've been on here, so I have a lot of catching up to do, but I hope everyone is doing well. Things have been hectic around here. Our neighbors have decided to band together and complain about our animals. We've been fighting it for a while but we don't really have anything else to fight with. I have to get rid of all of my chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and quail. It's devastating, but now I'm just focusing on finding then good homes. I know that you guys are the best so if anyone is interested in anything let me know. I'll try to get a list of what I have soon.

Kathy, the family of your husband's friend shall be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sarah, you could have had breakfast here tonight as well. Belgium waffles and bacon.

Chicklets, saying prayers for this family, how very sad.

Twinwillows, also sorry to hear about your situation. That stinks! I am so sorry to hear you have to get rid of all your poultry, so not fair!
