Rachel and Emily did good on their non animal exhibits on Saturday. Emily got a judges award on her animal science project on Holland Lop bunnies. Rachel got a best of show for her animal science project about chickens and a judges award for her photography, a picture of one of her comets.

Totally exhausted and going to bed after a refreshing shower!

TOMORROW is the poultry show

Freebie,

Would love to hear how the kids do with your birds. The judge loved our young roo, said be sure to bring him back next year, he was just a big too young to be competitive this year. We had planned to take the older rooster but he was a bit under the weather, I think he swallowed a bit of water when he got his bath. Sorry to hear about your hatch, that stinks! Humidity can do a number on eggs though. Hope you figure out the problem, let me know and we will get you more eggs.

wyliefarms---we are in Van Buren County Fair. Busy day tomorrow. Swine show (my daughters last year) and the poultry show. (where my BLRW's breeding pen is) He is trying to fight with the rooster next door. Tell the little ones, good luck tomorrow and to have fun!!

Vicie2x2--I will sure let you know how he does. He is striking. (he does have that single comb) but got reserve grand in the fun show.

I am pretty excited about the hatch. Sounds funny, but hoping for a nice roo. My Chase just up and died on Thursday, Best rooster I have ever had.

(Well, I do have the Buff that I got at the raffle.) and so far, he is a great roo. going to bed. busy day tomorrow

Just finished my first cup of coffee. It was left over from last night. Now I'm debating whether to make a fresh pot or go back to bed.

Sure looks like its going to rain at any moment. The weatherman just said it isn't going to rain. I hope he knows what he is talking about.

Granny is up and about so I guess in a little while we are going to make bread and butter pickles. My cucumber harvest has been unbelieveable this year and one can only eat so many.

Morning all! No rain here -- not yet anyways (not sure if we are expecting any around here). Picked green beens, zucchini, onions, peppers, and broccoli yesterday. Made salsa and canned it last night. Also made a little bit of blueberry jam yesterday morning. The girls and I (mostly myself) picked 24 lbs of blueberries last week. They were very good girls. It took a little over two hours to do so. I was impressed that they were so good. I didn't expect that out of a 2.5 year old and it was a maybe with the six year old. I was very thankful!

Hope you all have a great day!
