im not mad It's just sooo HOT, Ive been doing the chores before the sun comes up real early in the morning or late at night, this morning it was so humid here it soaked my clothes and hair, was like walking thru soup, chickens aren't eating very much, Im putting chick saver in there water and 3 times a day refilling and putting ice in it, running the hose in there run and soaking the ground they come and stand in the water, poor girls, was thinking about putting a air conditioner in the coop but that seems extreme. Be careful in this junk weather everyone.
A friend just e-mailed me. The wood she ordered from the city 3 months ago arrived today. Looks like I put on my lumberjack shirt and start cutting tonight and tomorrow.
Have to have it cleared out of her driveway for her garage sale that starts on Friday.

I AIN'T doing chores right now, before the sun or at any other time. Gotta know what you can handle and what you can't and anything above 70 is not comfortable for me, let alone 95!! Coop cleaning will wait till the weat her breaks some, CHante's have been roosting on some old poles outside anyways, don't wanna go in the Cathedral and I can't blame them. What breeze they can find they can have. I won't make them go in while it's this hot.
My Rocks and Reds have made it to the 8 week point!!
Jerseys are finally 5 weeks and Chante's are almost 13 weeks.
Wow y'all have been chatty the past week or so. I just got back from South Carolina and I am trying to get caught up here. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet BYCer's Cetawin and Braclin!
Before I left DH and I got the new smaller run completed for the back side of the coop where the brooder/breeder area is.
One of the broody hens changed her mind and got off the eggs after one day, the other one is sticking it out though lol. She's giving me dirty looks and will not budge! I've always wanted to have a hen hatch out her own eggs so I guess I'll let her be and watch what happens. At what point in time do I want/need to do something?

Right now it is being used for my youngest bunch of chicks. It will be used for a breeder pen sometime in the future. Check the link in my siggy and you can see the rest of the set up.

I think you did a great job on yours. I could not have done it by myself.
