GOOD NEWS!!! My Dawn is still alive and is doing GREAT!
She laid an egg so she was probably eggbound. The egg is pretty big and must have been stuck where I couldn't feel it. She is standing today, running around, squaking at me, eating, drinking, and pooping just fine. My whole family thought she was going to be a goner this morning. I don't know what I would have done if she would have passed away. We want her to at least make it until next winter because she is a great broody and we want to get some professional pictures of her to hang in our living room along with her sister Midnight. They were my VERY first chickens and the most personable. Thanks again for everyone's concern.
Glad to hear she is doing better, she is such a pretty hen.
Sorry to hear about the sick birds but happy to hear of the recoveries. Worrying about a sick animal can be pretty bad.
Then there is the shock of finding a healthy bird dead in the coop. That's what I discovered this morning when I went out. My BO Extra Crispy was dead on the floor with no apparent sign of injury. She died sometime during the night for reasons unknown. She was fine yesterday and last night. She had also been very good at laying those big eggs of 70 grams or bigger.
The other birds are fine from all appearances. They got some leftover macaroni as a treat. Even the 2 Ugo's are getting better about coming when called. Of course a handful of mealworms helps with that training.
Well I better get busy cleaning up the rest of the house for the SuperBowl party.
sorry about Crispy, it is hard to figure chickens. seems if she was egg bound you would have seen some signs ,funny walk ect.? I have had that happen to a young chick, figured something genetic

The store was out of Tylan 50. Terramyacin was only in a tiny tube of ointment and unless my eyesight sucks I saw no Baytril, Agrimycin or vet rx. I ended up with injectable penicillin which leads to a whole new research on how much to give......
I was going to say ask Grandma as she has used it on her birds but they were tiny, and she already said
hope your drake is doing better
Nova nice coop and very sweet chicks, hope the rest hatch well,
Grandma, prayers. walk, walk walk, best thing I know. trying to get my son to walk more he is very over weight.
prayers to all, chickens are good therapy. most any pet is good for the inside of human kind, Think that may be why God made us to love them so much......at least most of us, I know some people that don't like animals they seem to be grouchy, more often then the rest of us
