Inside, lamp installed

Chuckles installed...

kinda had to rig a cover so they could look outside. I don't want them to run around yet...
Now for the best ones of all

Mamma and 3 of her babies... 2 are still in the process of hatching...

Sorry the last pic there is so grainy. I caught them on the lucky side. I had my phone and was able to catch this. SOOOOO Sweet.

Congrats to all the new pips and peeps.

Un-named... get a few Roma tomatos. Cut them in half the long way. Put the vitamin drop on it, and then set it in front of your duck, stand back and watch the fun. My ducks love love LOVE tomaters..

OH, and my duckies got the fish treatment today. They got 40 feeder fish put in their pool after the water change. Those poor fish lasted all of 2 minutes. Not kidding. We timed it. Was the funniest thing to watch. Poor fish. Happy quackers.

I put a slice of tomato in front of him and he is not touching it. Maybe he will when I leave.

GOOD NEWS!!! My Dawn is still alive and is doing GREAT!

She laid an egg so she was probably eggbound. The egg is pretty big and must have been stuck where I couldn't feel it. She is standing today, running around, squaking at me, eating, drinking, and pooping just fine. My whole family thought she was going to be a goner this morning. I don't know what I would have done if she would have passed away. We want her to at least make it until next winter because she is a great broody and we want to get some professional pictures of her to hang in our living room along with her sister Midnight. They were my VERY first chickens and the most personable. Thanks again for everyone's concern.

Sorry to hear about the sick birds but happy to hear of the recoveries. Worrying about a sick animal can be pretty bad.

Then there is the shock of finding a healthy bird dead in the coop. That's what I discovered this morning when I went out. My BO Extra Crispy was dead on the floor with no apparent sign of injury. She died sometime during the night for reasons unknown. She was fine yesterday and last night. She had also been very good at laying those big eggs of 70 grams or bigger.

The other birds are fine from all appearances. They got some leftover macaroni as a treat. Even the 2 Ugo's are getting better about coming when called. Of course a handful of mealworms helps with that training.

Well I better get busy cleaning up the rest of the house for the SuperBowl party.

sorry about Crispy, it is hard to figure chickens. seems if she was egg bound you would have seen some signs ,funny walk ect.? I have had that happen to a young chick, figured something genetic

The store was out of Tylan 50. Terramyacin was only in a tiny tube of ointment and unless my eyesight sucks I saw no Baytril, Agrimycin or vet rx. I ended up with injectable penicillin which leads to a whole new research on how much to give......

I was going to say ask Grandma as she has used it on her birds but they were tiny, and she already said

hope your drake is doing better

Nova nice coop and very sweet chicks, hope the rest hatch well,

Grandma, prayers. walk, walk walk, best thing I know. trying to get my son to walk more he is very over weight.
prayers to all, chickens are good therapy. most any pet is good for the inside of human kind, Think that may be why God made us to love them so much......at least most of us, I know some people that don't like animals they seem to be grouchy, more often then the rest of us

Thanks on the coop. I am pretty happy with the outcome considering I took the second to the largest peice of wood, and that was the bottom, and then went from there. The back has 2 2x12 bracing the back, and then 3 other peices of cut ply are screwed to that over lapping to finish the back up. LOL. It was fun putting it together and still getting a very sturdy structure.

Skeeters last 2 babies have hatched. One more yellow and one more black with yellow on the wings like the other one. SO, 9 new chicks this week! 5 yellow chickmunks, some have 5 toes, some have 4. Most have feathered feet. and 4 black ones with yellow on wings and chests, again, some with 5 toes, all with feather feet. ALSO, One of them little blackies has black skin. GO ROGER! LOL.

Also, Veena is now on her roost, all huddled into herself. She would not even take any fresh subway bread. So not like her. I hope she is ok in the morning. She's my Queen Chicken. Really. She is the boss.

Un-named... did he try the tomato yet?

Raz- so sorry about Extra Crispy. I know how fond you are of your girls.
Nova- nice coop and chicks. Yay for the newbies!
Taprock- awesome for the pipping!
Theron- yay for Dawn!

Our computer is just giving us so many issues today. DH just did a system restore so I can actually see all the posts and pics properly and post a reply. When I was on earlier, I tried and it didn't work. And reading the posts were so hard it was giving me a headache. Well, at least he has it fixed for the moment, but this will need more finaggling before it's totally good to go again. Computers, sheesh!

Great free ranging weekend. Any help to reduce my feed bill is welcome.

Grandma best wishes on getting healthy. Calories in Calories out is key. I recently made it into the obese catagory myself. So I am right there with ya.

Watching the game, kinda. Mostly the commercials. Madonna's half time show was pretty shabby. It was like she was in slow motion. Every move was slow and TOO choreographed. I did like the last song with the choir though. Wow, cool commercial for Lexus with Seinfeld and Leno was just on!

Hope your party was a smash RaZ.
Great coop Nova and cute babies!

All 5 of my eggs are pipped!!! I think I will have to come up with some football names for them. I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight either, I want to be sure to see which chick comes from each egg so I know who the mom is.
