I've got about $0.20 worth of lead that'll take care of your problem in a jiffy.
:lau X2! I am very scared of any dogs that barks at me. Except little yappy dogs, just the big ones. Olive, Thank you so much! I will grow swiss chard, spinach, and lettuce in my unheated greenhouse for them. I will plant them in the first week of March, and they should be growing by the time the goslings arrive. I can get them started on 1- 50 lb bag of goose starter, and give them greens too, then wean them off when I finish that bag.

especially if you are a newbie and don't have everybody straight to post to in one post....
Not just a newbie problem. Just delete it down to a manageable size.

And I have eggs enroute from Brown City..one of you, no doubt. From ebay, though. i just cant remember who here lives in Brown City area that has showgirls and silkies.
Star Bright Farm?- I am going to get showgirl eggs from her this month as well since my test hatch went well. My son is begging for some of her calico bantam cochin's as well.

I was so busy today I didn't get to visit with my new chicks or chickens until this evening. All the little guys are doing well. None of them are shy, I reach in and they are all running to peck at my nail polish. Another chick has acquired a name. DH said to name my bald chick Bosley for the hair replacement company. So I'm thinking Boz for short. He looks much smaller but I think it is just because there is no fluff to his feathers and otherwise he acts perfectly normal.

Beautiful night, full moon and lots of stars, however feeling pretty cold here.

I am getting itchy fingers! I so want to start my plants inside RIGHT NOW! I have to get 2 plant lights for my light. BUT, I don't wan to have them grow out of their starter pots before I can safely transfer them to the ground. OH but I want to! I miss my fresh tomaters and beans and cukes... And I want some watermelon. I don't wan to see snow this week. I want to see produce starting. I want I want I want. I sound like my 6 year old now.

Raz - I use Dropbox to store and backup of my important docs and to sync pics and docs between computer and smartphone. It has a free and premium service but the free has all the disk space I need. You have a folder on your computer where you save your work and it backs it up and syncs it automatically. From anywhere you can log into your Dropbox account and get your docs. No remembering to backup and that is good for me because I'm lazy and forgetful.

Just got back from the Laughfest Volunteer kickoff meeting. This is the 2nd year for Laughfest and my first year volunteering. My DD and her BF went with me. It looks like it will be a lot of fun. West Michigan peeps should check it out! http://laughfestgr.org/events/ Whoopi Goldberg is the headliner and there are hundreds of events going on.

I love Whoopi. I am so glad that she is on the View. I know people love Rosie O'Donnell, but I was so happy when she was booted and Whoopi came on. Rosie is better off with her own show where she doesn't have to share the spot light, and I hated how confrontational she ALWAYS was with the other ladies. Whoopi on the other hand, now she's a gem. She's both funny and educated and doesn't think its the Whoopi Show... LOL.

WAIT! Could you imagine? The Whoopi Show... you just know someone would have to say it...

SJ - my cousin Tim Cusack is one of the MC's for laughfest!

Nova - glad about your hen Veena!
I still think if she is not eating normally that you should keep her warmer. JMNHO!
I'm a worrier.

SJ and Babigyrl - beautiful roosters! Hope they get flocks to love on!

Nova - It's not too far off now. We're only 12 1/2 weeks out from last frost here in my little corner of MI. You can't be too far off over there in Holland either. I'll be starting cabbages and eggplants next week. Tomatoes and peppers after I get back from a conference on the 21st. I'd start those earlier if I didn't have that conference to go to.

I will be starting the peppers and eggplants and maybe some others next week, thanks for reminding me! I clean forgot about starting those seeds this month. :he I will be starting tomatoes in late March. I love raw heirloom tomatoes. :drool

Star Bright Farms... that's Shellyb. I just picked up chicks from her for a couple of other BYCers. She has beautiful silkies and showgirls, and I got my Blue Orpingtons from her. They are beautiful healthy birds. I also got some goat's milk soap and lip balm from her. Great stuff! Love the soap and the lip balm makes my lips feel so good. lol
Good Night, all......

I'm watching a show on Science Channel about praying mantis.
Aristotle called them "chicken stranglers" and claimed that the barbs on their legs would stick in a chicken's throat. An old wive's tale disproved on film as they showed a flock eating up the mantids. Was an interesting show.
