I am very anti-social, I know... I will try harder in the next 6 months to spout more profanities and confounding verse so ya'll can piddle and scratch yer noggins in an effort to either understand or disregard what ever it is that I am trying not to say in order to get more posts than Opa and Olive and help this thread get more attention from somebody or other for being the chattiest thread to have resisted on but.... Man, that was getting hard. I was starting to feel like an air head pretending to be smart. I should do that. I might hurt myself. Lol.

Given that I'll have been here 3 YEARS next month and you've caught up to within a couple hundred posts of me within 6 MONTHS, I don't think it'll take you too long. LOL!

jphillips- hello and welcome

Raz- I'm so sorry for your lost ducks. When did you find out they were in Detroit? I ask because in the past when concerned customers would call about chicks not yet arriving, we would give them the number of the local distribution center that the chicks would come through so that the customers could call there and get their chicks immediately upon arriving. I remember once when a customer should've received them before the weekend, but we didn't get them so we gave them the number just in case the chicks came in on the weekend and it turns out they did. Customer was able to call and get their chicks from the d.c. which is great because they would not have survived over weekend.

I found out today when I called the post office again.
The tracking label says they hit DTW d.c. at 2:37 PM on the 28th. No one at the local office can (or will) say when they got here.

Been here over 4 yrs, Olive, and you passed me up!

(had to see how we did that, lol)

lol seriously? That could get kinda pricey to feed a chicken every day..... why not feed them crushed egg shells or calcium gravel?

Not on a routine basis but when you are having egg shell issues. At the time my girl was egg bound because the egg shell folded up in her, came out in a little ball. She was also doing the shell-less thing.

Raz sorry about the duckies, I'm glad some survived. You may have to have some Rockettes also not just Rocky.

I took some scrambled eggs out to everyone as treats. Egg sales are down right now and I have 14 dozen eggs in the fridge. So snack time!

1mutt - don't want to hear about your fun in the sun, I just finished shoveling 18 inches of snow out of the chicken run! (Have fun - maybe you'll bring some warm back with you)

That's no good. Hope something works out in your favor

I have had some chicks hatching these past couple of days and are they HUGE or what?? Four weeks ago, I hatched out a batch of seramas and these chicks that have hatched in the past couple days are bigger than they are. They are from our laying flock which has a variety of breeds in them. Mom 2em All, I will take a few photos of them and show you what some of your babies might look like.

Very cute duckies, RaZ! But so sorry for the nine who didn't make it. It's a small miracle these did, hope they bounce right back. The will to live is an amazing thing.

RaZ - Did they send you an extra duckling? Because if you ordered 14 ducks and then nine ducks died you should have four alive, but I see five alive in the photos!
