Well, I lost a family member last night. My little Cocker Spaniel died of old age. I knew it was coming just hard to accept is all.![]()
You should have called me. Buying soil or mulch by the bag is way too expensive. Especially when we are so close.I worked my butt OFF in that toxic backyard today- my shoulder is SCREAMING.
I moved all the sheet rock/river rock/slate from the pond- ie. sewage hole, and lined it up a couple feet from my side fence, bought ten bags of top soil, carried and unloaded it between rock and fence, and three bags of mulch. Planted all the ferns from my stepdaughters house, then fenced off the whole thing- the banties still found a way in.
It is nice and sunny on this side of the state. A little under 60 but a nice day to be outside. The chickens, peepers and ducks also agree.Thanks for the well wishes. I don't know where you are all hiding this "beautiful day" and "sunshine", cause it's not here. It's grey, windy, drippy, and chilly.
If you need help, give me a buzz. I have a garden tractor and carts that might help make things easier.I dont think I still have your number.
We have five yards of topsoil being delivered tomorrow at four. Then the joy of moving all of that into the back..and once its done, I am getting five more yards delivered. Probably should get mulch delivered as well, once the topsoil is in. THEN-
planting grass seed in the yard part, and planting plants in the 'mulch part'.
Wonder if it is possible for my arm to completely fall off once my shoulder self-destructs
I also wanted to let everyone know that the Michigan Member list is now updated again. BYC even gave me the first post in the old thread so I can keep it updated there. So use the link in my signature and check that you're there, it's correct, or add a post. I know some of you aren't listed yet... I only updated using the posts on that thread.
Thanks M2M. We will take whatever you send. No problem. I am still working on the d'Anvers for you. One of the big roo's hurt my little d'Anver rooster so he cannot fertilize the eggs right now so I don't think it would be good to put some in the bator. He is getting better. I just picked up some babies Friday. These ones are not Quail d'Anvers. A little roo, I know is a mottled d'Anver, and I think one is a Millie Fluer d'Anver, and the rest I have to wait and see what color they are. Will get you some as soon as I can. I am going to call a guy I know in Ohio and see about another Quail roo and a few more Quail hens.Robin,
I am so sorry for your loss- I lost my best friend when she was 10, and nothing made me feel better.They are family with four legs.![]()
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robin- there are four blues...two pullets, one little roo, and one I dont know. Then there are the others. If you and your friends can split them up, I will box them all and send them> I am sending them in carriers that I dont need back. So, dont worry about transferring them. I worry about a little bantie escaping and running around McDonalds- and everyone would think a nugget got free...
You can slip a few of those D'anvers eggs into the incubator and bring them to Chickenstock with you ...![]()
