& Welcome chicksstophere! Check out the link in my siggy for info on the upcoming Michigan chickenstock.

This is for Juise...
While working on the other trailer, I skinned a knuckle and later said a cuss word.

Are you happy now?

Cute picture, Mish!

Gardensmart people, I dug up a bunch of ferns and other plants from my stepdaughters house last night. She plans to rototill them all down- so, tell me..can I even transplant ferns?
In this lovely weather this morning, seems pretty bleak. Cold out there; but I figured I will put them in, and hope for the best.

Mom, I transplanted some to our house last year, and I hear they can be tricky. I thought ours all died off for sure, by the time Fall came around, we had nothing but brown stems where I''d planted them. Now they are popping up! Give them plenty of water.

Well, I lost a family member last night.

A little bit later we hear god awful squawking and here comes our cat racing out with one of the baby d'uccles!

I'm sorry this happened, hope the little one makes it. I have been successful in nursing back to health quite a number of small animals caught by the cats.
Hi from another Michigander....new at this still dreaming of having my own Backyard chickens!!

Yep, you might not be a robot after all. I sliced two of my knuckles open last night on that blasted vinyl floor, I can't wait until it's done. Then I can start crying about trying to piece together laminate flooring that has already been glued once.

I'm still sick, I am really tired of being sick. Spent last night hugging the toilet after a horrible dizzy / vertigo spell while scraping at that stupid floor. Felt so bad I thought I might just let the blackout take me and spend some unconscious time on the nice cool cement. Stomach is still woozy today, though better, my head is just pounding like all get out. I hope this goes away soon.

Robin,
I am so sorry for your loss- I lost my best friend when she was 10, and nothing made me feel better.

They are family with four legs.

Feel better, Juise!

I worked my butt OFF in that toxic backyard today- my shoulder is SCREAMING.
I moved all the sheet rock/river rock/slate from the pond- ie. sewage hole, and lined it up a couple feet from my side fence, bought ten bags of top soil, carried and unloaded it between rock and fence, and three bags of mulch. Planted all the ferns from my stepdaughters house, then fenced off the whole thing- the banties still found a way in.

Husband and I got TWO fence panels up, because he worked me like a pack mule holding up the fence panel, loading fence posts from HD into his truck, hauling bricks- and I cant deal with my shoulder anymore. I pulled all that stupid creeping crap that RaZ swears elbow grease will get rid of. AND we pulled up the pond liner. The chickens have been having a worm-party.
Right now, husband is burning up the old fence, and all the other crap I raked out of the yard. I had dragged a haybale too close to the firepit, and it went up in flames like WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. My hubby hosed it, so now I have a soggy black bale out there.

I have to pick my daughter up from the mall, and then spend a couple hours making meeting notes for tomorrow- then I am soaking this dirt off of me in a long hot shower. Id shower first, but then id never get my meeting notes done.

Robin- there are four blues...two pullets, one little roo, and one I dont know. Then there are the others. If you and your friends can split them up, I will box them all and send them> I am sending them in carriers that I dont need back. So, dont worry about transferring them. I worry about a little bantie escaping and running around McDonalds- and everyone would think a nugget got free...

I have thirteen large fowl that are seven weeks old. At what age do you think my brother in law can put them in with his established flock? Because I really need to get back down to a number that is easy to hide.

You can slip a few of those D'anvers eggs into the incubator and bring them to Chickenstock with you ...:)
