If you are still interested I will have to ask my carpenter. Let me know what size you are wanting.Hillbilly hen- Wondering if I could customize dimensions on the brooder for an additional cost? I have a possible 75 chicks coming in August and I am trying to have as few BrooderI as possible so that I have to buy less feeders, waterers, and lights.... My husband has no idea how many I am getting... Trying to soften the blow.lol. I just have fallen in love with them all...and had to get a variety![]()
I believe that was me and all the feeders and waterers have been spoken for. I don't see why you couldn't use the coop as brooders also. You've all got me thinking. Since I will have two coops ready, and no adult chickens yet, could I also use those areas as Brooders this time? After this first initial start up, I can't imagine ever having more than a couple dozen chicks at a time again.
I also think I remember someone posting hat thy were downsizing and would have some waterers and such available... Downsizing an upsizing would make a good pair!
And how important do you think the heat lamps will be during a Michigan August?
I have read that using cold [drinking] water will contribute to this. Try using luke warm water and maybe adding a bit of Karo syrup in with the water.I'm here, too.
About to eat dinner though, then go fishing. Cleaned another pasty butt. That's getting old.
