It does sound like a weasel.

I just hatched out the last of my welsummers for this year. I included my only rooster with a trio that I gave to a lady who lost all of her birds to a weasel attack. I thought now she does have the ability to rebuild her flock since she does have an incubator. Vicki has some really nice birds if you need some.

Good afternoon, Everyone. It has been a long week here. My husband was laid off, indefinitely, from the steel mill. He was one of the few left there, in what we hoped was a temp. shut down. It no longer looks so temperary. We are in move out of Michigan mode, at this time. I do not see him finding work here, at this time. I know God will help us and has a good plan. Praying for wisdom and doors to open that He wants us to go through.

Gayle, I am so sorry to hear about your babies. I will be praying for you to find out how it went in.

HI everyone! I am located in Norton Shores, Mi (Muskegon) and looking for silkie chicks (female only please). Color doesn't matter to me but I would like them between day old chick-3 months of age if possible. I have 2, 6 week olds at the moment. I am happy to pick up if located in western michigan. Thanks for your time and I'll be waiting eagerly to hear from you!!!

Also, since I am new to backyard chicken raising, where do you all get your birds from in west michigan? I dont have any connections at the moment other than the few day old chicks available at the Family Farm and Home in Allendale, Mi.

welcome BE4L! glad you found us here!

finding silkies sexed at those ages is going to be next to impossible. even long time silkie raisers cannot sex them until they crow or lay eggs many times. it's just part of the way it works for silkies.

you may have to buy them at POL or straight run and take your chances.

OH! Yeah, I probably should have been able to figure that one out

Thanks

I was going to ask what chicks you have available but just realized you are way over on the east side...bummer.

Anyone from West Michigan with chicks up to about 3-4 months old available? I would add more Easter Eggers too!

do you have an incubator???

I'll keep that in mind. Let me know when you have your EE's.
Nope, no incubator here...i'm just getting into this hobby and live in the city so I really cant have tons of birds - gotta stay under the radar ya know
