None at the moment. We're living in a townhouse and aren't allowed to have them. I did live in another town before moving to GR and had chickens there for about ten years. I had RIRs, EEs, Leghorns, Barred Rocks, and Silver Phoenixes.

We're heading back to MI for the holidays. DH parents are in Ann Arbor & my parents moved from A2 up to Oscoda a few years ago. I've been trying to talk them into raising a few chickens. If I thought it'd work I'd take a chicken or two home with me for them to keep; but I think I'd best do this in the summer vs the cold snowy time of year.

HI All!!!
Rang the bells for the Salvation Army for the last day yesterday. I about froze my tush off!!!! Thank God it is all over and hopefully what little we did will help out others in Ionia county. Our son Kevin stuck it out with me and by the time it was over, there were only three of us left. Everyone else quit and one got fired . We learned a lot and got a lot out of it.
Our son has been shoveling out some areas for our chickens so they can get out. Thank God for him cause he has helped us out a lot keeping paths clean for us. We did hire a couple of snow plows so we can get out of our driveway.
So far all of our chickens are doing just fine. They lay about 6 to 10 eggs a day.
Merry Christmas to you all and we hope you all have a really wonderful day full of love and family.

Hope all of you are having a merry Christmas. Two of my sons live in sw missouri and my mother is with them for xmas. David, the middle son who works with me, is in florida with his inlaws. Hope's oldest son is home on leave so he, his wife and daughter came over for dinner last night. The granddaughter was 3 last June. It sure was wonderful to watch her opening the presents we had for her. Of all the gifts I think the best was a flashlight that looks like a rooster. When you squeeze its tail the beak opens and the light shines out. The first time you turn it on it clucks and the second time it crows. I may have to go to Meijers and see if I can get another one for myself. Anyway, wishing you and yours a wonderful day.

What?! I didn't realize Howell was in the middle of the state! That would place me somewhere south of Toledo! I'm surprised nobody is raving about the warm weather today.

My 6 chix have been enjoying the newly exposed grass, they forgot what the green stuff looked and tasted like.

i'll comment on the awesome weather! it's a wonderful break!

all of the birds are having a blast and the cockerels and roos are crowing up a storm!

it's nice that i can open my coop gates without digging them out!
(well, it's nice for my son and hubby who shovel the snow for me, anyway!)

What is up with this wind! I went out this morning to find shingles all over my yard, boards ripped off of my son's wooden playground, and even my plank fence (made of solid walnut) was blown down! !

And that's just the minor things! All I can do is stand in my house and watch everything being destroyed.

This winter has got to be the absolute strangest ever.

Well, with the drastic change in temperatures, there's going to be a lot of wind involved. You must have gotten some really good gusts.

Don't worry; we're going to be settling down into the 20s the rest of this week and things should stay fairly calm.

From what the weather just said, the wind isn't going to settle down until tonight. The winds here aren't even gusts...just a continuous massive blast! I guess that's why I'm getting so much damage...there's no "down time" from the wind's strength.

Sorry to hear about the dammage from the wind there. We woke to the same crashing and banging this moring. I think something hit the electrical mast on my house and we have several more trees down. That doesn't compare though to trying to fix a roof in the winter time.
