Morning all!

Sam, your Mom is quite a gem!! She reminds me of my Grandma, sweet as pie and still going strong!!

I just seen her at my daughter's graduation, 88 years old and still loves to dance!! Goes out at least once a week dancing with her boyfriend!! Her boyfriend wants to get married, but she is not sure if she wants to give up her independence! Then he wanted her to move in, but she said she is not that kind of girl!!

Only you Gram!!

Hey Crystal, sorry to hear about your water heater, that stinks! Did you get it fixed?

I skimmed most of the message, so sorry if I missed anything important. Been super busy!

Hi!

We are trying to get a pool that Jon bought set up. both parties were unaware that a mouse nest was in the pool. so lots of holes.

Jon's cousin just called and he has a pool that he is power washing and getting rid of. So Jon just hoped in the truck and went to get and pick it up!

Amazing how God works!!!!

Have a great day and we will talk to you all later!

One less coon in our yard too:)

The cooler weather sounds great to me as well. Last week just about wiped me out trying to work in that heat and humidity. I've got to try and finish it this week so we can get the necessary inspections before drywalling and the cooler weather will make working much easier. However, the downside is that the cooler weather will delay my garden. It seems that nothing comes without a price. Have a great day all.

Hmm... I haven't paid any attention to the weather reports for my area. I suspect if you all are expecting cooler weather, then I should too.

My cornish crosses will be two weeks old tomorrow! I talked yesterday with the mother of several 4H kids who have shown poultry at our fair for many many many years and always always always win. When I told her I was taking some cornish this year, she got interested... until I told her they'd be two weeks old this week. She acted shocked and told me that theirs weren't even hatched yet. "Oh well, I guess you can enter them as broilers instead of fryers then". I didn't think they'd be that big... they'll be just shy of eight weeks old at the fair. They won't be too big will they? Our fair describes fryers as being 4-5 lbs and broilers as 5-6.5 lbs. A small window, I know...

Hello Michigan,

I am new to this thread but for this site about 3 months ago. This is my first year with chickens and ducks. I can't believe how addicting buying chickens and ducks are. I have around 50 chickens and 8 ducks (4 runners, 3 rouens and 1 pekin)at the moment. Looking to expand my duck population. If anyone knows of anybody who wants to sell female runner ducks please PM me. My family loves runner ducks.

Morning Everyone!
Here's a question for you more seasoned chicken keepers! I have one hen who is the brunt of everyone else's desire to peck! She has become very nervous and runs at the slightest movement - her name is Precious - she's with the rest of the flock which numbers 22 at this point - I have an add'l 6 buff orpington chicks which are 8 weeks old this week - we have these gals in a separate pen - here's my question - I'm thinking of taking Precious and putting her with the young buffs hoping to put her in an environment where she can be top gal - I also thinking that by doing this she'd have some buds to hang with when everyone is together - thoughts??? Thanks!

I have a semi-similiar problem. Our Millie-girl is old and an easy target. I was just talking to hubby about taking her out of the pen & hen house and putting her in a cage. When we originally got her she had been a 4-H chicken and had been caged her entire life in a pretty small cage. I thought she would adjust but the poor thing is almost blind and gets confused and picked on so much. We may pull her out and put her in a large rabbit cage in the garage for the remainder of her time. We'd just have to be sure to take her out all the time to give her the love and attention she deserves.
