I just got an offer for apercoits. (I know i spelled it wrong)
Never had one before, so don't know if I should take them! My friend I just called and she is allergic to them. So I will see.

Up to 7 chicks now!

MJ- Your life will never be the same once you have a pressure cooker!!!!

I need to pick green beans and tomatoes this morning:)

Called my cousins where my gilrs spent the night to fill them in on how many chicks and they are STILL SLEEPING.

The drake is talking pretty to Emily's duck. Going to be a long few days of quarintine!

Have a wonderful day and I hope the heat gets cranked on outside!

You really should try apricots, I love them and they are usually too expensive to buy. I did find some on sale and was able to make 5 half pint jars of jam.

HAHAHA........................I just read you didn't have a pressure canner and thought "by jove, I think Cat posted she was buying one.........." and then your next post you had realized that!!! I have a pressure canner, but it needs a new guage on the top. My goal this winter is to get that fixed so I will be set for next summer. Then, you will have one available that is closer if you need it.

ps you need to also make some of those pear muffins off of your website. I am hoping to bump into some pears and to make those for the kidlets and Craig at some point.

pss If you need cannning help, let me know. I was trying to find a pal that was canning peaches or pears this year so I could watch, learn and help.

Wylie-----hbh has it right.................make some apricot preserves!! Not only tasty on toast and muffins, but I have seen alot of yummy recipes for pork and such with that as the base for a sauce. I am envious, but in a good way, at your apricot blessing

MJ, I have an All American brand pressure cooker and it is considered by most to be the cadillac of canner. Very positive seal without a rubber gasket. Extremely safe. I have a model 925 and wish I had a 930 or 941. The 930 will hold 14 quarts at one time which will speed your canning. I have several friends that have other brands and don't like them. http://www.amazon.com/All-American-...3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1251558195&sr=8-3

OK I declined the apricots... giving them to a family in need instead.

11 chicks have hatches so far. 3 more are close. 1 egg nothing. I am very pleased with the success rate

Tomatoes are picked, heading out to pick green beans.
