Good morning Michigan chicken people! Nothing to report around here, just gunshots from dawn to dusk - haven't seen any deer riding the tops of cars yet. Christmas tree farm is open for business, guess it's time to start thinking past Thanksgiving day. Does anybody have a spare turkey strutting around? I'm so bad at planning!

Nope, that was a first time thing for them. It was a little small but there were some nice animals there. I was talking to the guy who put it on and told him he should have one in the late spring and late fall....better weather will bring out more people. Every saturday they have an auction though. If you go to thier website it's got all the info...

HEY! Did everyone see Menards has tarps on sale for like $2-$3!!!

I'm thinking of wrapping my run in them to give the chickens some "outside" space instead of just the coop. I keep a shovel out by the coop and shovel the snow out of the run so they can come out...spoiled little chickies! I had goats that would wait inside the shed until I came out and shoveled a path for them LOL. They didn't want to walk in the show.

...OH.....and STILL no eggs.....

Forgot to give you all a laugh...I had posted looking for Speckleds on an animal sales site and had a guy write me. He said he had 5, 4 hens and a roo and would "let them go" at $150....$30 A BIRD?!?!?!

no thank you!!! Not unless you throw the coop in and they lay the most delicious hardboiled eggs ever! LOL

Just got a call from a friend. She had a customer come in that knows some russian families looking for geese for thanksgiving. They found one source but they wanted $7 a pound and that was more than they wanted to pay. Anyone have any for sale that they are willing to sell for goose dinner? They have someone willing to do the processing. I don't have any extra right now.
