I have had both Cals and NZW and you should not have a mixed colored litter if they are purebreds. Even if you bred a cal to a nz, which I have done, awesome meat cross, they will all look like cals with their ear, nose etc coloring being a bit lighter. Right now we have Florida Whites, another awesome meat breed, but a little smaller, and easier for my son, who started showing them last year at 10, to handle then the big cals and nz. Plus they take up less room, a good thing for us right now.

I agree. I had my doubts, but really not concerned of the breeding.. I do have whites with black noses, ears feet... and will breed them together. (have 10 rabbits total). I was always really unsure of the brown ones, what they were........ well other than just darn cute!

There are New Zealands in Black and Red and possbily other colors, not sure. They are not as popular as the whites, at least not for meat, and are not normally bred together. I am not sure if you would get all colors if they were bred together, but maybe that is what happened? They were all NZ's of different colors and/or Cals? Either way, if they are good meat type bunnies, it is not that big of a deal. They are super cute though.

everybody take it easy today driving...was heading to work and made it about 5 miles before I flew off the road and into a group of trees.

I've never done anything like that before and it scared the crap out of me.

I don't know how I managed it but I picked the one spot in the wooded area that I could squeeze my truck in between a sign and a tree....a foot either way and it would've been head-on into trees. I got lucky and the folks who lived in the house near where I went off the road came out and got their 4x4 and pulled me out. Unforunately I didn't have any cash or anything to give them so I'm going to (once the roads are safe) take them down a bunch of eggs and goods that I canned from my garden this year. Now that I'm back home and settling down my back hurts...going to be sore tomorrow!
My poor baby...

So glad you are ok Jenny and so glad you didn't have the kids with you! I heard the roads are bad, I hope they get better in the next couple of hours before I am on them!

Yeah, this was a curve in the road I've gone on two times a day, 5 days a week for the last 4 years.

I was thankfully not going too fast...but my back is starting to hurt a bit so I think I'm going to call my work and tell them I'm not coming in and cuddle my back up to a hot ricebag.
You know that curve over on Kingman and Nicoles when you're heading toward Columbia? The one that's in the middle of all those fricken woods...yeah...that's where I slid off.

If you have any on hand take a muscle relaxer now, Jen. You'll be glad you did. I'm generally an anti-medicine kinda gal, but I've learned over the years that some things are best treated promptly and since I'm accident prone and tend to get myself into bigger jobs than my muscles can well-handle these kinds of injuries I am very well-acquainted with.

If you don't have any on hand ... well, that's the pits! You could consider being more accident prone. We've got a lifetime supply, it seems.
