Wow, that's a great idea. For about 10 years I bred, raised and rescued reptiles, mostly for Preuss Animal House and another small reptile store. When the eggs began hatching, I noticed one of them was having an exceptionally hard time coming out so I picked it up to help it along. But one end of the egg was hard like a rock! I was able to get the baby out, but she was extremely small. I couldn't figure out what happened! It wasn't until a week or so later that the truth came out. My kids had seen me candle eggs so my daughter decided to take one out and do the same thing, but she dropped it which led to the one end of the egg molding. The baby never grew. She had a permanently broken back but ran and acted just like a full size Bearded Dragon! Numerous people, especially long time breeders told me to put her down but I'm glad I never did! She ended up living 9 years. The average for a dragon is between 9-12!

About 3 years old

Posing for Christmas card photos with one of her siblings

Here you can kinda see her broken back. She was such a sweetheart!

The top 2 were her parents so you can see the size difference. The bottom one Preuss gave me because she was old and left in a house someone moved out of. Part of the reason I got out of the job, too many sad stories!

Keyt,
I love the bearded dragon pictures. I had a BDL for 4 years in my classroom, until someone broke into the school and let all my pets go. Bruno (the lizard) was found outside - it was November - he never recovered.

I was too sad to get another one. They are wonderful pets.

Hey Rose - You ARE THE BEST! Thanks for being the front end of this extravaganazaaaaa!! All well at Huston's Happy Hens household - trust all is well w/you too - Hey Kristen - how's the egg eater doin??

Purple Chicken the egg eater is doing great! Her purple is almost gone and I thought about getting my blue kote and zapping her with some cool polkie dots. When I first let her in the flock she stuck to me like glue, but now that she is a member she has dropped me like I smell bad

!!She is still laying an egg once in a while and they are thin shelled and break. She only eats her own eggs so I'm not concerned about it.
Off to bed, have to work in morning!!

Hey guys! Just a Floridian passin through! Just curious, does anybody live in or close to Grass Lake? My uncle and his family moved up there for his job to be closer to the Detroit airport. He flies for Delta. His name is Ken Davis. Thanks guys! Have a nice night!
