to me too...except it is smaller. which doesnt make sense. Seems it would still have baby fuzz like Penelope. But it doesnt. It has all adult feathers- but not as big as my Penelope who has fuzz. Henry had neck fuzz and was a mammoth before I could get used to the idea....

perhaps it's just his genetics, he got small genes, runt of the litter of something. I have one very small Chante out of the 6 I got.

Mom2, I am so sorry to hear about your day.

I, personally, got NOTHING done today. My hubby sent me on a mission to find him a new chuck key for his drill. Come to find out that I needed the drill with me to get the correct one. I drove all the way home and he looked so defeated....come to find out, the drill stopped working just before I got home. So with his puppydog eyes in tow, we went to Lowes and bought him a new drill (a chuck key-less drill).

Tomorrow will be another unproductive day as it will be spent with family. there is just not enough hours in a day....

Dear Michiganders!
I have one hen! She is in my photo at left.
She is 2 years old. She is a very very very tame, hand raised D'uccle.
Would anyone have a friend for her that I could buy? She is very shy with other hens and needs a calm/kind friend. Age does not matter.
Does anyone have a small flock of bantams that she could join?
Thanks for your help. Bobbi's friend passed away 2 weeks ago from old age and Bobbi did o.k. at first but now she is lonely!

Chicken Grandma

I thought she had a home?

If you have a way to get her somewhat close to me, she can join my bantie flock.
One frizzle, two silkies, one sizzle..

I have been outside since the storm passed trying to comfort terrified geese.\\
THREE of my neighbors have been letting off crazy fireworks! Loud flashing sky-is-on-fire fireworks...

the geese have been terrified. I turned on the radio in the garage, turned on the lights...
and sat with them. and sat with them....and finally, I think the air-raid is over.

chickwanna8 : great flea market cookie jar find. Gotta love those flea markets.

We lost a meat chick today, heart attack I think, it was flat on its back sprawled and had not shown any symptoms of sickness. They are 11 days old. I must have counted heads 20 times today. My DD come up with "well it was gonna die soon anyway Mom". Yep she's right. I was hoping it would have been big enough to eat before it died though.

My ducks are becoming very friendly, running up to greet us and then following us around. The want to grab us. They grab at each other alot so I guess they think were are just big ducks from their flock.

Since my gender confused hen has found a new home, one of the other hens has taken over the male role in the flock and was caught mounting the other hens. I hope this behavior stops when the two roos get into the flock.

Opa I share your admiration for old tools, gadgets, etc. Missed a yard sale today I wanted to get to that listed old food grinders. I would love an old grain mill to crack corn etc. I love a good find when hunting.
