It might be a stretch, Mom, but geese are migratory waterfowl and thus subject to Federal protection. Since we live in a designated flyway, federal law takes precidence. Might be enough to scare away the city donk.

Just to clarify my request, if you live in one of those "limited" areas that says you can only have "X" number of chickens and you have more than "X", I will not consider "X + 1" as illegal.
For the purpose of this exercise, I'm mostly interested if chickens are OK or not where you live. The actual numbers are not that important at this pooint.

Again, I want to thank everyone who has responded in helping me with this project. Your responses are completely anonymous.

I have had 21 folk respond directly. A little on the light side, considering that there are over 600 peeps on the Michigan thread. But I'm not complaining.
I'm pleased with the response so far, and I apprecate the honesty and sincerity of the respondents.

If I can pull off this database of chicken people, I'm thinking that we might be able help those who live in areas where chickens are considered "outlaw".

Getting a big enough sample size is always the challenge. I found that one of the hardest tasks to do while doing some of my MBA projects. Have you considered going out to some of the farmer's markets or shows to get more respondents? I am sure you have to ask permission but if you have a big sign next you that you are a student trying to complete a project I am sure people will be more sympathic to your cause.

Just sent you the info you're asking for, I think. Ha.

A lot of new peeps, where's Linda? How about Laura and those neat Icelandics? I am planning on getting some Narragansetts next spring and (OliveHill) I may be in in luck about 2 miles away is my usual hatchery and she has some Narrs that are new to her. Hoping to get some poults there. I also would love to get a few Icelandic chicks from Laura if possible. I have a friend in Beaulah that has birds and I would make a gift of 2-3 for him and his wife (plus keep a few for my flock). Any of the old(er) crowd still hanging around?
