No problem, Shelley! You have beautiful, healthy birds. Blueberry and Muffin are doing great. They teamed up with the two splashes I got at chickenstock. They sure make a beautiful 4some.

M.Sue, when my sons killed their first deer I had them write down the story of their hunt. Now thirty years later they occasionally reread their journals and are instantly transported back to the excitement of that momentous day.

finally found a home for the Chante boys, a fella called yesterday and wanted them very badly for his wife...awwwwww....He's coming between 11:30-noonish today so I have them out and in a cage setti ng ont he driveway under a tarp so they stay dry. So long fellas.

Ive journaled our deer season every year since 1999. My grandmother, Nonnie, liked to journal when she took road trips, she jotted down everything, the temperature, weather conditions, gas prices, what time they'd stop so she could have her Toddy. haha.​

URG! Another rainy day. I think I might put a tarp over the coop... I did something wrong on the one side when I roofed it, and it LEAKS! I was hoping for a nice day, but nope. Gonna rain and rain... So one side of the coop, all the pine is wet. Bummer. nLooks like I might need to engineer a vent hood too. I have a vent on the side of the wall at the top, looks like thats letting water in to much too. Good thing I know where Lowes is at. Might need to seal the edges better too.

Put Buffy back out this morning. She was a good girl all night about being stuck in the house. I brought her in kinda close to bedtime, so it wouldn't upset her to much being stuck in a carrier for so long. She was very happy to get out there. Silly hen.

I swear I am going to get over my "issue" with black skin and bones and cook that D*** rooster up! This sucker won't shut up! He kept up for 2 hours on saturday. I put him out of the coop at 9 this morning and he has yet to SHUT UP! Don't get me wrong, I love rooster crowing, BUT THIS IS NON STOP! Then, HE get Mr. Fluffers going, Bad Bob, going, the neighbors 2nd roo going, and then Little head. SO, 2 silkies (who sound like sick cows) 1 fav, one BR, 1 americana crowing! OMG! I am glad I am in ag, cuz there'd be trouble otherwise! I am thinking some of these silkies are going to have to go to Ravenna this weekend with Carl and Earlene. 6 silkie roosters is to many. Now the question is which ones to keep. They are free for anyone right now... Really... Come on over and I will catch you some.

Seems I have lost a mutt. I just went out to give them all a daily dose of chicken crack, and when I was looking at them, I realised something wasn't right and started counting. Missing a black cochin pullet mutt... Dagnabit. SO I whistled for her, and nope. She didn't come. She's only going on 3 months and always stays with her sisters and Oscar. I went looking around the yard, nope. Not in the coop... wet coop... ugh! No where. Now I don't know if she got in the coop yesterday, I just assumed she did, cuz all the birds were in by 7:15... I don't remember if she came out this morning... And the possums are starting to come around, and no they can't get in the coop, but, it mighta got her last night before they went in, and those dang hawks have been around... so, I hope she was just lost in the bushes and didn't feel like her share.. But I think she might be gone... The life of free rangers... Well,
