Nova congrats on the pips coop will be ready by the time the chicks are ready to go out. Well done

I am putting the 5 wk old in that tomorrow as soon as I get the front and door finished, and a power line run in for their heat lamp. YEAH! I know every one has said how dusty they are, but WOW!

I also got plastic poultry net up in the big coop so that the other chickens can not go on the side Skeeter is on. Also put all fresh straw down for them there too, and got chick feed and a waterer in there so they will have food when its time to start eating. So excited to have more little chickies. I will be happy when Skeeter stops yelling at me. LOL

I can't keep up with this chatty group! That's what I get for going into an I-don't-care-about-anything downswing.... i get behind!!!!!!!!!

Mom 2em all...
Please forgive yourself for forgetting the meds. Sorry your son won't take his. Maybe he also goes through mania and that feels SOOOOO good that he can't imagine giving them up again?

My son is bipolar on NO medication because when it helped him, he didnt think he needed it anymore. NOW- he needs it really bad. really really really bad. But he is eighteen, and he says he doesnt need meds. Its much easier to self-medicate, you see, with illegal stuff. AND, again, I KNOW he would benefit from his medication, but nobody wants to listen to me anyhow.
Please, watch him very carefully. My daughter was bipolar too. The meds made her feel better, so she stopped taking them. She killed herself on Dec 17th, a few years ago. It was her third attempt. Christmas still sucks.

We are so helpless as parents - the kids think they know the answers, but death is so final.

Watch him!

My son was suicidal before his meds. i was so scared I was going to come home and find him dead, I put him in an institution for a week..he hated me so much for it. Got him on his meds, and then he felt so much better, he quit taking them.

My heart breaks for you. It really does. I am so sorry that you have suffered a parent's worst fear.

My dad was bi-polar. He was both homicidal and suicidal. He was on 2 different meds. Once the ability was added he was so much better. But he'd quit taking his on occasion also. He was also beginning to have schizophrenia near the end of his life. As much as I miss him, I am so glad that a heart attack took him and not himself. It sucks that he died in my car, but that was better than finding him in a worse condition by his own hands. It just took so long for the Dr. To find the right cocktail that made him stable. And that was only after a voluntary admittance to the psych ward. I will never forget that day... I came home from the store and he was gone. My mom said he went for a walk cuz he was gonna kill himself. He was going to the lake. I caught up with him a half a mile from lake macatawa. Convinced him to in the car and brought him home. He did his first stay shortly after that... I hope you are able to convince him to start his meds back up... Also, sometimes avoiding processed foods, msgs, splenda sweetened foods... Can help with the chemical imbalances... Along with an hour of vigorous daily exercise. Creates happy brain endorphins...
