Well it finally happened.
There was a note in my mailbox from the Code Enforcement Officer. Someone called on my hens.
According to the note, I have 5 days to "abate said nuisance"

Looks like I will be heading to court in the near future.

D: D: D: say it ain't so! I wonder if the person who called you out on the hens is one of those people who believe eggs are manufactured in a factory D: D: D:

OH man! That blows. Are we still on for tomorrow morning?

Oh no RaZ! How can those hens be a nuisance? Those self-centered people! :he

You are able to keep them according to MI right to farm law, for you have been selling the eggs, right? They have no right to force your chickens off your place according to the law. You will need to get all the info about the law and give them to the enforcers and neighbors.

I will pray that things will go smoothly for you.

Oh that just made me feel sick. :( I am so sorry to hear this. I am just waiting for my day...especially since rooster #2 started crowing this morning. :: sigh :: ....and my DH accidently left the screen door to the coop open last night so we got a nice full 2-rooster chorus at 6am this morning.

...and yeah my neighbor peaked her head out this morning to tell me she noticed....

X2 here......go set them straight!!

Well, the calve's water tub were empty last night, and I did not want to full it up, and the calves are big enough to drink the water from the creek in the ravine, in the woods. So, this morning with my sister's help, I had to drag a 4 months old steer to the woods, boy, it was hard work. He refused to move, and I had to pull the rope, and my 13 year old sister pushed his rear. We made about 100 feet in about 10 mins. In the process, the steer broke my glasses right in half! :barnie It was so hot, and sweat was getting in my eyes. My older sister saw our plight, and came to our rescue. She found a slender stick, and I told her to wrack the steer's rear as hard as a 16 year could do. THAT made him move. She had to keep wracking him all the way to the woods, while I kept pulling him in the way that he had to go. As soon we hit the creek, he drank the water, and we had to make the other steer to the creek to drink too.The other nicer steer followed us quarter of a mile to the woods. Yay!

About my glasses, I will have to find J.B. Weld to fix it.

I researched the MRTF before I ever got the chicks. The trouble is judges often interpret it in many ways. The man in Milford lost his case when the judge said that he didn't make a profit from his chickens.
I'm not giving up hope, this fight has just started. I have to gather more research material and get affidavits from the people who have bought my eggs.

Brian, what time are you out this way tomorrow?
Babigyrl, I don't even have a rooster. The only noise the hens make is the egg song and they haven't been laying lately so it has been pretty quiet.

Job well done & the whole time I was reading your post I was picturing you & your sis with that stubborn calf in this whole scenario!
If you can't find JB Weld I'm sure Mr.Duck Tape will be able to fix them.
