Got the culprit that got my splash hen. A raccoon. Live trapped it. Will go bye bye today lol
I love your coop, especially the idea of having the bins!!Okay, DH is home early so pics of the coop real quick!
The bottom two boxes are tip out bins my DH designed for me!
What an experience of life time to do that!! One of the guys that rode at the barn we're at went out East last summer to do the same thing (w/ex Olympic). Those are opportunities you just can not turn down....they're very impressive on a resume!! lolI did Combined Training - cross country, dressage and jumping. I trained with an ex Olympic Chilean rider back in the 80's (dates me!). But with my American husband, we used to trail ride together western. I bred and trained a couple of Tevis Cup horses (Arabians) but other than that no competition. Although I trained my horses English mostly, I had a couple of Arabians that turned out to be super little cutting horses.
One really essential thing I found when training young riders, is to give them a good horse - the horse can train the rider as much as the rider (a good rider that is) can train a horse.
Hope your daughter does well - it can be super rewarding!
Have you ever considered not letting the employer who's doing the hiring know that you have so many smarts?I'm still trying to decide what I want to bewhenif I grow up.
I have a BS in engineering and a MS in Ecology and I still can't find a job
St. Ignace, gateway to the beautiful UP (and very windy here today too!)
Glad to see water out there and not ice!!
some pictures....enjoy!![]()
These are so cute. Love the black little silkie and the one that was about to get squeezed to death!! lol Cute pic!!
I thought about 4H but really don't know where we'd have the time to work it in. We practically live at the barn. She really enjoys it and I don't want her to feel over whelmed. I love the barn we are at because it's a hands on place. Everyone helps each other out, they all know how to push the broom, feed & water, bring in/turn out, find the right tack for a specific horse, give advice/encouragement when needed & not too, etc....One Big Happy Family!Welcome to all the newbies...I'm terrible with names
M Sue.yes I used to compete starting at age 8 and showed quarterhorses all the way through high school. I competed in both English and western. I enjoyed english a lot more when I.was competing, but now its either western or bareback. We do a lot of trail riding. And now my daughter is a junior horseman in our 4H club. She rode in her first show last summer.
I love the rodeo shows and the Best PBR show I was to was in North Dakota while visiting family. Got to see 3X Bull of the Year....Little Yellow Jacket....UP CLOSE!! On our flight into ND we had the thrilling experience and opportunity to talk with Rob Smets the whole flight. He was one of the two announcers at the event. A trip we'll never forget. My granddaughter is into barrel racing and is competing in rodeos in Missouri and Oklahoma. While my daughter in law is a little worried that sh might get hurt, she is glad that she isn't competing in what was my son's event-------- bull riding.
Oh my, that poor little sweet heart is right....that will be achy for sure. Hope she sleeps well tonight........Check on her often!!!The poor little beebers
Talk about poor scheduling of events. The Syrup Fest in Shepard is going on also I believe.I know a few people who are...I'm heading to Alma for the Fowl Fest show.I can't believe they have those two things on the same day!!! ((stomps foot))

I'm pretty sure I caused my parents SO much stress as a kid. I personally had three major concussions by 5th grade (bad enough for loss of consciousness), hah. I am sure it had a cumulative effect since sometimes my short term memory recall can be a bit dodgy. One was in gym class in 1st grade, then in 3rd grade I fell down some stairs, and in 5th grade I slipped on ice right outside the school and whacked my head on the pavement. Yep, all done at school
Anyway, we were in the ER so much, they knew us my name. When we walked in, the nurse would ask which son it was this time. They are in their 30's now. Still get hurt, but not as often. Mothers never gets to stop worrying!
It does seem like they try to kill themselves when you take your eye off of them for one second!!!!
Brkuk-Not sure I have seen you on here before! You are another Metro Detroiter... Is that a term? It is now!![]()
