MMM hens continue to perform well. With five MMM hens in the flock, getting four dark eggs on most days. Now that they are mature they resemble Australorpe hens with black shiny feathers sporting a green and or purple sheen.

I have one MMM. She is 21 weeks old now and her comb and wattles are growing larger, but they aren’t bright red yet. I can’t wait to collect her beautiful eggs!

In a moment of weakness, I bought two marans chicks--one a MMM, and one a FBCM. I can't wait for those gorgeous eggs!

My MMMs are at 14-15 weeks now. Pale pink combs. Anxiously waiting on these playful pullets to get to POL. The two I have bump chests. Long legged. They look to be nice additions to the flock.

Do MMMs have the same copper coloring on their necks as Black Copper Marans?

I think it varies. I have 3 MMMs and 1 has feathered legs and a copper neck, just like a black copper marans. The other 2 are clean legged and totally black.

I think it varies too because they are a mixed breed and not a true BCM. I have one MMM and she is all black with feathered feet. She has just a tiny bit of copper on the top of her head, but it’s barely visable.

My other Mmm is solid black , larger comb,more feathers on the feet. They are a designer ( mixed ) breed for sure.
