Midnight majesty marans

Do either of them have feathered legs/feet? Both of mine are fully feathered down their legs and feet.

No feathered feet, but not all MMM have that trait.

Based on pictures I've seen and my own Marans crosses (Dominant Coppers, not Midnight Majesties), I'd say the chick in the first pic, as she looks almost exactly like mine did. Pics of MM chicks look almost the same as my DCs. Honestly, I cannot tell a difference between the pictures of the Dominant Coppers and Midnight Majesties. I suspect the crosses are very similar. That is all just a semi-educated guess though. I am very new at this. I may be completely wrong as I am definitely still learning here.

Also, I have one with feathered legs and one without, though there is some question as to whether or not the feathered leg guy actually is a DC. I wonder if I actually got MMs instead. That would explain a lot. EDIT: No, that wouldn't explain it after all. Visited the Hoover Hatchery Midnight Majesty page and it says males are barred, which mine is not. So, not that either.

Second chick looks like a blue or lavender to me (again, VERY new at this) and I believe MMs are black.

Personally I also wonder if the Midnight Majesty Marens and the Dominate Coppers are the exact same thing. It is so confusing with the different hatcheries having their own names for birds to possibly drum up sales.

Anyway I am waiting till someone posts pictures of egg color as I sure would like to see the eggs.

I think they are the exact same thing as the dominate copper. The stock picture looks identical, just mirrored.

Gosh, I think those are beautiful birds!!
These seem to be so new that no one has breeding age hens as yet. Least not that I have noticed posted.

Really looking forward to when people can post pictures of the eggs and report on egg color and production of this breed.

They are a hybrid. Created for high egg production.
