Milk, bread and toilet paper southern style

Okay I have to share too. I am live in Western Washington State. The forecast for tomorrow is for 2" to 5" of snow. The prediction is for the snow to hit about rush hour in Seattle. That is nearly always a recipe for disaster here. The saving grace this time is that it is happening on the back side of the cold front. So things will warm up by Thursday. If we get this kind of storm on the front of the cold then the ice will close everything here. We have really big hills in Seattle.

At this point I am set for the day. Even the silly little scary hummingbird has his feeder heater set tonight. I am expecting temps tonight into the teens.

We appreciate it! It always irks me the people who say they can't come pick it up because of the weather, but they expect us to drive it out there in the exact same weather conditions that they refuse to drive in......and then don't tip, or tip $1 or something. Meh.
Last year one of our drivers was hit by a random truck that lost control on the ice - totaled her truck even though she wasn't having any trouble in the weather herself. I always say it's the OTHER drivers ya hafta worry about, as I can control my own speed and such that I need to maintain my safety, but not theirs.

Thanks for this post. I deliver pizzas, and was out in the snow and ice for ten hours Sunday. A lot of the folks showed their appreciation and tipped well. But their were actually a few that complained that it took so long to get their order, and then stiffed me. All the while dodging idiots that didn't have a clue how to drive in that kind of weather.

This is my little piece of heaven wearing a white coat. Believe it or not, this much snow can shut down the schools around here.

i believe it.. i see one little patch of leftover snow about the size of a paper towel.. and guess what.. we are closed again today!

Darn, I have been out 2 times shopping and never thought to get some TP.

We are only getting 4 inches tonight,so I am sure it will be cleared for school tomorrow much to the kids disappointment! If the roads are bad though I will not hesitate to call them off and stay home. I used to always go if school was not cancelled but not anymore.

I give good tips to my pizza delivery people too.My dh used to do that job. I even gave some eggs too!

Everyone in seattle needs to listen to the allstate insurance commercial clip "first snowflake freak out lady".

My friend back home got stuck in the start to snow traffic one year. Took her 4 hours to get to the downtown store she worked at to officially call the store closed, and then another 4 hours to get home. She lives 20 miles north.

I swear, some of those seattle hills aren't meant to be traveled when it's wet, much less icy/snowy.

Wait, I'm confused...

Can someone explain to me what this "snow" stuff is? wink

Maybe this will explain. See when it's really cold out.....these white flakes start falling. And they start piling up on top of each other.....and before ya know it the roads are slippery

Give me your address. I have a friend with a Reefer Rig and will get him to deliver some for you!!!

Last year my BIL brought home a truckload from the mountains, we put it in the bathtub and tortured the cats with it. Being from So Cal, I've actually never seen the stuff up close in its natural setting... Its not like the mountains are even that far, but so far, I've never made the trip. People say I'm not missing much, but building a snowman is on my bucket list.
