I had 5 of Nancy's chicks hatch

so far that's 21 of these fuzz balls and have some of Amy's hatching New Years..I thought my MF pen has been on strike but just found a nice pile of eggs in a spot where I never thought they could even fit

they are all frozen but at least now I have hope of hatching more soon...an empty bator is a sad bator
I also have a broody blrw hen but her life went upside down yesterday when my head roo-aviator was taken by a huge hawk..now she's off her invisible eggs.Thankfully we had another roo almost as nice to take over duties.

Most people will sell some project birds or eggs.
Some breeders are very close to getting the patterns on the birds just right but still feel they have a ways to go on more of the detailed parts of the perfect MFC.
You will see some on the BYC auction every now and again.

We are all still working on getting them to the point of breeding perfect. Some of us are new at it and others have been working on it for a few years.
Go back through the posts and see who has birds that you really like and contact them.

Oh, Holly! I hate to hear about your roo!

I am glad you have a back up though.

Glad to know your girls are producing. Good luck with hatching from your own pairs and trios, quads, etc.

I can't wait to hear how the eggs I sent you hatch out! Have you candled them? Are they all developing?

I am sure you are going to have some fabulous crosses with all the different bloodlines and little Cochins you now have. In another few months you will be able to post lots of photos of all your great new babies from your own decisions. Ain't it cool?

Here is a photo of one of my girls. She is not as typy as I like but I want her color for my Calico project and she is a doll to be around. Always ready for a cuddle. I will use her with several different roos to see what I may get.

And yet another, though dirty in this photo, of my offspring from Wizard and MF/buff Columbian girls.

Though these are not coming out MF they all sell like mad. Even my roos are all gone and the one I have left is for Betsy. They are just gorgeous birds but I hope to use some of the color for my Calico and MF project work.

My MF/Calico hen is broody too and she is Sooooo determined. If she was sitting on something they'd have hatched by now.

Thay can be so frustrating!

I have a GLW that is broody for the 5th time this year. She is in the free range flock for my sale eggs but this year she hasn't done much laying. I have not let her raise a clutch but maybe next year if she is this determined.
I let my bantam Cochins and Silkies hatch some last winter. They raised them up from Christmas on and went outside in the cold and snow. They are so fluffy that if a chick cries and says it is cold the mama hen sits down and warms them all up.

Lets see...my babies are in semi lockdown now...needed some bator space so pulled them off turners and sorted the eggs to 2 hatchers..tomorrow is the official baby watch countdown

68 eggs.
2-Rusty
5-BMan but at least 2 are real bad air sacks and they don't look real hopeful
1-MF Friz
1-Wiz

Rusti who is now 8 months old, I hope may be thinking of laying with that red comb.

She'll be paired with nicely shaped mottled roos. Can you tell I'm ready for spring hatching?!?!?!
And then this pullet, a mfc split, is growing well.

She's only 4 months old with a wide breast and carries the width back to her tail. I've really watched her as her mother is a beautifully shaped blue mottled.
