Mille Cochin Info

I plan on sticking 2 the milled all the way. I have 2 thank you all though for making so much progress and making it easier for all us beginners 2 get started. You all have taught me so much since May when I bought REM from Lumber. Next year, with everbodies help, I think we all can make progress. I just need help with who goes into what pen. But thanks for making this project possible and finally getting type in it as well. Next year will be fantastic.

I've recently started reading through all of the Mille Fleur thread -- starting with the first thread and continueing with this one. You've been there from the very beginning. You and Erin and not too many more. That's dedication, and it shows!
Hey Nancy & Mike.....

Have you read the very first thread that was started in 2008 by Erin (Msbear)? They locked the thread after a breeder (Ralph Tate) got into a tiff concerning my wording in a post. If you haven't read this one, it's a good read & very informative. Sadly, most of the people that were breeding MFC at that time are no more.....

Yes, that's the first thread I started with. There seemed to be "more" breeders at that time then there are now - or, more breeders who were more active on the boards anyway. I tried to read the info on yahoo groups but it's all gone!

Ok Mike...Just for YOU~!

Calico cockerel-8 months

MFC cockerel-8 months. Since I began working on "type" this year, some of my pattern has been lost. But I plan to work on "both" next year.

Beautiful pullet who has it ALL~!

Lacking in pattern for a MFC but perhaps she will work in a Calico project-9 months

LOVE that buff barred!

Another girl will excellent pattern & type. However she has shafting.

I know this is a MFC thread but had to add a pic of one of my Buff Barred girls...please forgive :bow

Glad you like the Buff Barred. I'm very pleased with the progress this year. I've got 3-4 pullets who are shaping up nicely & about 3 cockerels that I think will be awesome. They just need to mature a little more but by early Spring I hope to see some beauties :)

I wanted to post pics of the current hatchees. They are saying we may lose power as early as tonight. I am pulling an all nighter to keep an eye on these babies. I may have to move them close to the wood stove to keep them alive. I was hoping we'd have power for one more day. I have another egg pipped and I think 5 more still alive. I'd hate to lose them now.

Picture 1:
The 5 MFC babies from Byron, Bridgette, Millie and Mildred are numbered.

Here's the whole crew so far. Four wheaten Ameraucanas, two mottled, one black, one... barred (?) bantam Cochins, five MFCs and a lone unknown yellow/white bantam Cochin baby. Renee had it labeled "Co ?".
