Mille Cochin Info

gennies are ready. it's windy and snowing here in sw virginia. BLEH! if we had to, we could go cut down some trees to burn in the stove, but probably wouldn't burn well since we don't have any seasoned wood, since we haven't used the stove in years. but it's always an option.

This one is zipping! Three more to go - they are alive, Ki4got! Power has flickered two more times since my last post. This last one was scary. It kept flickering and I was sure that was it. I am hoping it lasts a bit longer yet...

How'sweather been everybody? Been horrible here and is getting worse. Still have power but already went out to cut up a tree branch that landed on a fence.

Has anybody seen the crane hanging off the building in New York City? I can't believe it!!

It's windy and I still have power (which I feel is a true miracle because we lose power on nice, clear, sunny days all the time). The elderly lady is hogging the TV so I can't check the Weather Channel and the local channels are out.

Chick 16 is out! Another MFC and it's grey with red head again. The Ameraucana is internally pipped, the last MFC is still moving and looks like it's getting close to hatching (I can see it moving the membrane but it isn't internally pipped yet). The chocolate is alive, but so not ready to hatch. I can still see at least 1/8 of an inch of space/veining in between it and the air cell.

Hope your power stayed on, Bobbie! Hope you're hanging in there, Mike. Hope eveyone stays safe!

Yesterday was a beautiful day in South Dakota for a change.

Not such a pretty picture but I just love Bran's color

Yay! Power stayed on! Number 17 is emerging from it's egg - an Ameraucana. The last MFC and Chocolate are both alive. Man did it get cold last night, though. The 'bator dropped to 95 before I realized it. All's good now!

I'll post new pics once everyone is hatched and fluffed! I am really, really excited about these grey body & red headed babies. All but one of rest look like the typical Byron/Bridgette babies with chipmunk striping/spots. The other has a grey back and red head. I haven't gotten any with grey until now. Maybe Byron over my calicos was what I needed. I know they won't have breast flowers, but that's ok. I have partridge based girls to help with that.

Still super windy but really sunny. Will make for great photos:)

Beautiful pics Nancy. Motley looks like he will be quite the fella:)

Can't wait to see those chicks Reyvaughn

Wind picked back up so no pics from me today. I have pics for the progress page but have to upload them still. I'll get around to it sometime. Hopefully tomorrow. I don't care for these pics as they are indoors. I'm hoping the wind will die down for tomorrow as I would like to hget pics then.
