Yup his colors really compliment Autumn.
Funny story, before I knew how much Mike wanted him I had actually sent him off with my friend to take to auction with my cull /extra sale birds! Then later I changed my mind and called him and asked if it was too late..
Thankfully it wasn't and Ken was nice enough to hang onto him for a week or so until we got back together again (everywhere in South Dakota is pretty far from everywhere else) Then I mentioned Freaky to Mike and he said he really wanted him and then I changed my mind on Mike! He wasn't too impressive as a chick, but now he looks so much like Ivan did, just richer color and I love him
and he's a sweetheart, too, just like Ivan was.
(Another pic
& Mike I promise if I get another chick like him that bird is yours!
Well- I do know that both Freaky and Ivan are beautiful. I hope you do replicate him. When you do put him in a breeding pen you should through some frizzles in with him if you have any extra. But wow- he sure is a looker. I'm kind of speechless as he is even better than I could have imagined from seeing the first pics you posted of him. Anyways. I think you know who one my favorite roosters are that you have!!
I was looking over my chicks again. I can't judge on type, but going by color, I will only be keeping about 4 MFC girls this time around. Talk about culling hard. I am still waiting to see what the half mottled and half BC girls look like (type wise).
I am leaning more and more towards getting out of the MFCs. I do have my first F1 Chocolate Cochin... She's MFC x Chocolate and has red hackles. I am actually just not thrilled with Cochins at all at the moment. I love them, but I am finding them to be a money drainer. If I can get some time Wednesday or Thursday I will try to get pics of the girls I still have. I just haven't had time for me in the last couple weeks.
So much for letting my fractured ankle heal... I haven't been off it since 3 days after it happened (it's been over 2 months).
