Mille Cochin Info

Love Schmoozle! Nice type...and the name rocks too.

Country boy, I look forward to your pics! I really don't know how you get such amazing shots. I feel certain that the Bantam Cochins move at twice the speed of my other chooks. I will try to post some recent shots.. Be forewarned, they're pretty bad pics.

I do not have cool names for my chooks. Blame my lack of imagination. This pic is of 'The White One" and 'the hen'

This pic: 'the mean one' and 'the cockerel'

'The Hen' and 'The White One" again

'The Hen", 'The Mean One' and 'The Cockerel'

Other than 'the hen' these birds were all hatched from Nancy's eggs, THANK YOU!! Nancy.

Yes, he is split. His mother is a full Mottled (my avatar, actually!) and his father was a Mille Fleur split to Columbian.
Most people thought I would get rid of him after my first year of breeding but it never hurts to take some granddaughters or other less typy or hens with too much buff back to him. Keep what works!

Fantastic vermillion going on! They are so beautiful.
And names are just identifiers. My hens all have numbered leg bands because most do not get names. It is just easy for me to name a roo and when I collect it from the breeding pen I write his name on the eggs. Numbers are too hard for me to remember and I do not like to number my tractors because then I see how many I have and that is just heart breaking when I realize the work I put in all this.

Very nice boy, and I can see why you would still be using him!! A keeper for sure! Is his Dad on your website? Interested to see what a MF split to Columbian looks like color wise.
