Picture show tomorrow?????

Definately be doing a photo shoot with this guy tomorrow! He will be in quarantine for a while so plenty of time for pictures. Need to think of a good name now his girla dont have names either yet. Maybe we could cast a vote and I will get new pics tomorrow to give ua inspiration.

Pretty sure I somehow got a partridge bird from a Red x Mille Fleur cochin cross. Has some slight mottling, but I'm betting it will be clearing out. Very interesting coloration on the cockerel. I need to get photos.

BTW, Loving the frizzles! :D

I am more likely to name my roos and just use the band number from my hens legs or wings for my record keeping. When I collect eggs from pens that i plan to set eggs from I write the roo's name on it and record that for hatching. Before I got around 700 chickens I knew which egg came from which hen and could record that, as well but every summer I seem to climb high in numbers and spend all of fall trying to thin back for winter.

We can toss out names like Confetti, Party Boy, Ticker (like ticker tape parade). I had to name my first MF Frizzle boy Shazam because when I saw him maturing out I said it every time. Couldn't really call him *@&#(what holds back water between a lake and river)! LOL Though I said that a few times, as well, but really try to watch my fowl (ha, ha) mouth.

Ooooww was all set to go and pick up my little man tonight but the guy who has him rang and said he wasnt sure it was a cockeral and wanted to hang onto it a while more. With a comb thay red at 12 weeks I think its a boy but hw wasnt having any of it which means I have to wait another week or two til I can get him. I cant wait that long! But I will cus hes lovely! So no pics tonight sorry guys!

It is a cockerel! I looked!

i just got back from a few days away. My white MF Cochin girl can hardly stand up. I saw no obvious injuries, separated her from her pen, dusted her with DE and have been pushing fluids. My daughter was hand feeding her. I'm surprised she ate. She was incredibly light. :( I sure hope she makes it through the night.
