Mille Fleur Leghorn Thread PIC HEAVY

I need some help sexing this chick. This is my first MFL and I only have 1 so have nothing to compare it with. "she" is 4 weeks old. Quite small compared to other chicks her age. Comb has grown a tiny bit but is still definitely yellow and not even pinkish. Her coloring is quite light compared to photos of adults I have seen. What do you think?

here's my gal again. she is almost 8 weeks now and still so petite. All the other pullets her age have moved out to the big coop but she is still in with the baby chicks. She was my lone MFL to hatch so I dont have anyone to compare her to.

Nice looking bird. MF Leghorns are a little small even for Leghorns. They're fascinating to watch as their color seems to change almost daily.

Hey donnie nice to see you on here! SeattleLeah in a PM conversation said her little one came from Phage.

Mine, as you know as you have mine as well, are small - in fact it's funny when I'm hatching jubilee orpingtons at the same time, they are almost twice their size as they grow!

I've been busy building breeding pens and sorting breeders. I read, I don't post so much, there's a lot of people on here with a lot more knowledge than me. I've got 43 9 week old chicks that look alot like Seattleleah's chick.

Cheryl, do you still have your Mille Fleur Leghorns?

Sadly you may know that I had to sell all my breeding flocks due to illness, however I have dispersed my F4's to a handful of people that I continue to work with to improve the breed. I really feel like these have come leaps and bounds since I've raised the awareness on them in this country.

I'm currently working with 3 different overseas sources to get eggs to further their development. I look forward to the day when I can again have them breeding in my yards.

Currently I have about a dozen chicks that are my 5th generation and 4 of my best hens in my layer flock...just for safe keeping!!

Good to know you still have some. I've culled down to just 6 hens and 2 roosters that hatched from the eggs I got from you. I was able to get a rooster from a local breeder and I'm anxious to see what his chicks will look like. They are beautiful birds, but there is so much work to be done.
